Melbourne Werribee Mansion & Sovereign Hill One-Day Tour

My tour guide was absolutely outstanding. He was always patient, attentive, and ready to help, making sure everyone felt comfortable and well taken care of throughout the journey. Thanks to his professionalism and enthusiasm, the entire trip was not only informative but also truly enjoyable and memorable.

Sovereign Hill is a captivating open-air museum in Ballarat, recreating Australia’s 1850s gold rush era. With costumed actors, gold panning, and hands-on activities, it brings history to life. The old-world streets, mine tours, and evening light show are highlights. Perfect for families and history buffs, it’s an immersive and educational experience, blending fun with rich cultural heritage.

Had a satisfied experience from this trip. Driver+tourguide, Rick, was very friendly and helpful. Throughout the journey, he explained us the itinerary clearly, as well as history & background of the places that we will be going. I was joining the group alone and Rick was always offering to help me taking photo, which is heartwarming to me! :)

The 1-day tour in Mandarin was well guided by Jimmy. He took extra care of my elderly parents whilst travelling. It was an insightful experience especially since we learnt much about the history of AUD. Highly recommended for sure if you are not driving!

I participated in the optional mine tour, which took 45 minutes. On February 24, 2026, the ticket cost 12.5 AUD. I thought the experience was quite good. The Candy Store also had live candy-making demonstrations, and at the end, samples were given to the audience. The freshly made candy was especially delicious! I recommend everyone go check it out. It rained the day I went, which caused a slight delay, so I didn't have enough time to pan for gold, which was a bit of a shame.

guide was disappointing as he was smoking throughout the trip and did not really engage us in the activities but otherwise the place was engaging and fun

Our tour guide, Cloudy, introduced us to the area and its history along the way. Although the drive was long, it was well worth it. Every detail of Sovereign Hill was fascinating, like stepping into a game world. I wish we could have spent more time there.

The tour guide David Hsu definitely deserves 5 stars. He is very familiar with the entire historical background of Australia. He has been explaining the unique knowledge of different architectural landscapes along the way, allocating time reasonably, and always striving for the best interests of the group members. If you want to participate, I strongly recommend choosing David. The group led by Hsu can definitely spend a day in the gold mining town. There are various performances, special shops, and you can also take photos with Santa Claus. It is recommended that you don’t have to follow them to watch the soldier performance. You only need to wait in the shopping street to watch it. best show

This tour exceeded our expectations. David Hsu, our tour guide, is experienced, professional and truly passionate about his job. He ensured all of us were taken care of every step of the way. We even got a bonus stop at the Werribee Rose Garden. The Werribee Mansion was magnificient, and the Soverign Hill was so much fun.
