Great tour. The guide was very knowledgeable and explained me the different cultures, why they build the houses the way they are and introduced me to main locals. I loved the life performance.

Our friendly english speaking tour guide Uncle Rudien Daniel (very informative and big hearted) picked us up at our hotel lobby early. Although I was paranoid and contacted the company directly to know how to spot the tour van, he wore the tour company shirt and the van had the tour compsny logo so it's easy to spot. You won't miss it. Van was well air-conditioned, clean and comfortable. Journey to the Longhouse took around 2hrs but was filled with history sharing by our tour guide about the towns and local villages. He was very willing to answer our endless questions and spoke english very fluently. Once we reached the super remote village(40km from kuching), we had to register at the tourist hut. Entrance fee is included when you pay so don't double pay. Your tour guide will hand the counter lady $$. For non-muslim visitor, a small up of Rice Wine could be tried for free at the hut. The Bidayuh Longhouse is NOT a dedicated museum kind of house. An actual community still lives there. So expect to engage with locals who go about their daily routines or even get invited in to their humble units for a glimpse into their handwoven crafts. Toilet, a drink stall and handmade souvenir booths can be found there too. We entered the Headhunt area and strolled up and down the corridors of the longhouse as our tour guide shared details about the house design, tools and fuction of this Bidayuh Community. Our guide was kind enough to bring us to the backyard river where moutain water flows! Recommend to bring small change for tips and covered shoes. We also got to learn about the many uses of the various flora and fauna found. Our guide was also kind enough to check om us every now and then and taught us facts relevant to our profession. DEFINITELY worth your bucks. Would reccomend our tour guide to everyone!

We started the trip when it was heavy rain. Fortunately the rain stopped when we reached our destination. We walked along the bamboo floor and witnessed the Amazon= life style of the Bidayuh peopke. It was a pleasant drive with scenery of the Palawan mountain range. A good experience for us city folks.

It was definitely underwhelming, to say the least. Basically,a guide walked us through homes of the natives, most of which had their doors closed (don't blame them as these were private residences),with tables set up in front to sell their local wares/ products. The guide named & explained the items hung along outer walls, type of flooring, grains (e.g. rice, pepper, etc.), showed us a house where we walked in & saw some things, & basically walked us around an enclave of houses. I was told that the Sarawak Cultural Museum would have done a better job of piecing the history & life of the various tribes, with more artefacts to see & experiences to immerse in. Felt this tour was a waste of money & not too sure how this tour could have been called a 'half day tour.' Definitely expected more!
