Gujo Hachiman Castle tours

The driver was very punctual and waited for us in front of the B&B early in the morning. He drove very steadily and safely along the way. When he took us to Gassho Village and Hida Takayama Old Street, he also waited for us patiently. We were very happy along the way. Enjoy the journey and thank you for the driver.

Our tour guide, Lin Hu, was very kind and responsible, providing excellent service and detailed explanations. The weather was beautiful, the mountain town was charmingly old-fashioned, and Shirakawa-go felt like a paradise. The itinerary was well-planned with plenty of time. This was a wonderful experience.

It was a wonderful trip! Our tour guide, Liu Chang, had a very sweet voice and made the sightseeing experience very enjoyable. She also recommended local delicacies. It was a very comfortable journey! Excellent, I must commend her! (Secretly gave her a tip)

Very well paced tour with ample time to explore each area. Guide Lui Chang was very professional and she speaks 3 languages. This is not a guided tour. The guide will just explain what we can do in the area and the time we need to be back to the bus and we are off to explore the area on our own.

We mainly signed up for Gujo Hachiman Castle, and it's definitely worth climbing up to the main keep to take a look. The only downside was that we only had an hour in Gujo Hachiman, which felt a bit rushed if you wanted to climb up to the castle. In Hida Takayama Old Town, you must try Hida beef, and in Shirakawa-go, you absolutely have to go up to the observation deck. Our tour guide, Liu Chang, was excellent (100 points)! Before the tour started, she introduced the attractions in three languages (Chinese, English, and Japanese) and clearly communicated the meeting times. The driver drove steadily. It was a very fulfilling trip, highly recommended.

Highly recommended if you want to go to Shirakawa-go. Our tour guide was really helpful and patient in answering our questions. He also shares brief history of the place in 3 different languages!!! (Chinese, English, Japanase).The original itinerary was supposed to be Gujo Hachiman-Takayama-Shirakawago but it was so traffic so he decided and recommended to go first to Takayama (to take our lunch)-Shirakawago-Gujo Hachiman. If we follow the original route it will sunset or already dark once we arrived at Shirakawago and I think it was not ideal to take pictures at night.

Special arrangements are made for Chinese-speaking drivers. They arrive early and wait at the hotel entrance that day. They will also introduce the scenic spots while driving. If there is a place you want to stop on the way, let the driver know at any time and he will cooperate with you to stop. It is a great travel experience.
