Meiji Jingu Shrine

Try to also plan your visit during the shrine's annual spring grand festival from late April through early May. During this time, you can see amazing traditional performances. Some of Japan's best artists show off their skills in classic arts like bugaku (an ancient court dance), noh and kyogen theater, and sankyoku chamber music. It's a great chance to experience Japanese culture up close!

Meiji Shrine usually opens at sunrise, which is around 5:00 AM to 6:00 AM depending on the season. It stays open until sunset, so you have lots of daylight to visit. The inner garden and some other parts of the shrine might have different hours, so it’s a good idea to check the official website or nearby signs.
