Used the pass to travel to Hakone by Train and discounted ticket to Open Air Museum Gotemba Station and Fuji by Bus. Did not realize Fiji Bus travel in a loop return and the travelling distance between Hakone and Fuji. If we do get the chance to travel to Japan again next time we will book Hotel in Fuji area. We only traveled upto Lake Yamakako and Oshino Hakka, so much more to explore in Fuji. But we had to get back to Hakone 3pm to reach Hakone Hotel at 7pm.
On the first day, I went to the Odakyu Line Service Center at Shinjuku West Exit to exchange my Hakone Free Pass. I took the Tokyo Subway 3-Day Ticket early in the morning to Shinjuku West Exit. Because there were many seats on the train, I didn't choose the Romancecar. I took the 7:19 Odakyu Line and arrived at Odawara Station around 9:00 AM. I transferred on the same floor to the Hakone Tozan Railway to Hakone-Yumoto Station. The hotel was conveniently located across from the station. After storing my luggage, I continued to take the mountain railway to Gora. When the Hakone Ropeway from Sounzan to Owakudani passed over the mountain and saw a large amount of smoke spewing out, everyone around me exclaimed "Wow!" From Owakudani, I went to Togendai and boarded the pirate ship. Seeing that there were many people, I upgraded to first class for 700 yen/person. Fortunately, I only chose a one-way ticket. On the return trip from Hakone Shrine ⛩️ to Hakone-Yumoto, I took bus 🚌 line 2 directly to the hotel. On the second day, I left the hotel and took the L line from Hakone-Yumoto Station riverside to Gotemba Premium Outlets. It was my first time using the Hakone Free Pass, and I didn't have much experience or time, so I added 2000 yen/person (if the Shinjuku Service Center had explained it more clearly, I could have avoided this pitfall). I took the express bus to Kawaguchiko. After finding the information desk, I learned that there is a free shuttle bus connecting Gotemba Outlets and JR Gotemba Station. I took the red sightseeing bus from Kawaguchiko Station to the Maple Corridor, taking pictures of Mount Fuji, the lake, and the beautiful autumn leaves along the way. On the return trip at 16:20, I took the bus from platform 6 in Kawaguchiko to Gotemba and then to Gotemba Outlets. The last bus at 19:00 was the T line to Sengokuhara, where I transferred to the M line back to Hakone-Yumoto Station. On the third day, I continued to take the M line to Sengokuhara Plateau and then took the pirate ship to Hakone Shrine... If you get up early (after 10:00 AM, many buses only run once an hour), you can go to Lake Yamanaka near Mount Fuji. In the afternoon, I took the Odakyu Line from Odawara to Machida Station and transferred to Yokohama (I didn't return to Shinjuku). In short, independent travel is a process of learning, improving, gaining, and storing... Planning ahead and leaving early makes the 3-day pass very worthwhile.
Absolutely the best value for money you can do so much with this voucher, the boat ride and Ropeway was amazing. Even the cable cart ride was amazing. Use it on any bus or train as well highly recommended
I traveled directly from Shinjuku to Lake Kawaguchiko, so I didn't use the Odakyu Line. The travel pass is very convenient for taking buses to different attractions around Lake Kawaguchiko. You don't have to worry about fares and can enjoy yourself to the fullest, but pay attention to the bus schedules. Also, some bus stops can be very crowded on the return trip, and I experienced buses being full and unable to board. You can use the pass to go from Lake Kawaguchiko to Oshino Hakkai and Lake Yamanaka, but note that some buses are not eligible, so it's best to ask the driver when you get on the bus. Afterwards, you can use the pass for designated buses to Gotemba and Hakone. In Hakone, you can take the mountain railway and cable car, except for the Hakone Motomiya one. Unlimited rides on the pirate ship are excellent. Finally, you can use the travel pass from Hakone to Mishima Station.
We highly recommend using this 3-day Fuji-Hakone Pass, it's really a magic card that can go anywhere with free accommodation and free entry. It really helped us for mobility from Shinjuku - Hakone - Yamanaka - Fujikawaguchiko -Yamananaka - back to Shinjuku. Totally worth it!
booking was smooth, receive exchange ticket emailed, then get the actual pass at Odakyu sightseeing office in Shinjuku station. with this pass we just hop in and off Odakyu train line, Hakone tozan bus, cruise ship, cable car/funicular, as well as busses around Kawaguchiko area. convenient and no hassle.
The Fuji Hakone Pass 3-day ticket is absolutely worth it! It covers transportation across trains, buses, and boats, making it incredibly convenient to explore the Fuji and Hakone areas. The included attractions like the ropeway and cruise add great value. A must-have for a hassle-free and scenic adventure!
very usefull pass. you can complete entire hakone and fuji places with it. fuji has bus service so it might looks tricky but japanese are very helpful so they will guide you properly. you can take the ropeway and trojan train as well with it.
buy this pass from klook is easier and cheap! i used this pass for my trip from Tokyo to Hokane, Gotemba Premium Outlet, and Mount Fuji areas. most of the places that I went covered in this pass. when you redeem this pass at counter, i recommend you to ask as many questions possible regarding your trip, including what bus you can use, bud schedule etc. the staff was really helpful too.
very convenient and cost savings. bus in kawaguchi-hakone are very expensive so getting the bus is very cost savings and convenient as you just have to hop on and in the bus. some attractions are also free included in the pass
