Transport in Tainan

The Taiwan High-Speed Rail is truly impressive — fast, efficient, and incredibly convenient. Traveling between cities was a breeze, and the trains arrived exactly on time. The seats were spacious and comfortable, with plenty of legroom, clean interiors, and smooth, quiet rides that made the journey relaxing. Buying tickets was simple, either online or at the station, and the staff were helpful and professional. I appreciated the clear signage and easy boarding process — everything was well-organized and designed with travelers in mind. What stood out the most was the speed. In just a short time, I was able to travel across Taiwan without any stress from traffic or long delays. It’s the perfect transport option for both tourists and locals. Highly recommended for anyone traveling around Taiwan. Efficient, reliable, and world-class — the Taiwan High-Speed Rail exceeded my expectations!

I had fun exploring Southern Taiwan with this 3 day pass. Very easy to use, it comes with a booklet that you'll get from the HSR counter. You can book your HSR in advance through the website, can even change your time of departure when you go to the counter. My accomodation is in Taipei and the day trips in Taichung and Tainan was just a breeze. HSR also provides free shuttle bus between HSR station to the main city, just research for the bus number. You have to go through the staff at the gates to pass through, they will inspect the booklet. I'll comeback to explore more of South Taiwan!

Hope this info will help any international traveller going from Kinmen (Shuitou Pier 水头码头) to Xiamen (Wutong Port 五通客运码头) 1) Collect ferry ticket from the left most counter (i.e. i海台已附款取票柜台) at Shuitou Pier 水头码头 2) The ferry tickets can only be collected between 30 and 70 minutes before departure. 3) Security and immigration clearance only starts 60 minutes before ferry departure 4) Luggage will be kept in the luggage rooms within the ferry, but unlike the Kinmen side, you'll need to find and claim your luggage before exiting the ferry! Remember to fill in the physical Arrival Card for Temporary Entry Foreigners (photo before) either provided during the ferry trip or at Wutong Port, as you'll need the card to clear the immigration at Xiamen

Very easy to take and return. The person in charge are able to speak some English in case you speak 0 chinese. They'll give uou the motorcycle and let you go. Same thing when returning, come back, and just give it back and done. Very easy and straightforward. I was able to go to several places in a day.

The service staff was excellent. After confirming the order, we realized we had misunderstood and accidentally ordered three scooters 😭. The receptionist not only didn't get angry but also helped us ensure our Tainan trip went smoothly. We are extremely grateful and hope this review will reassure potential travelers who are still considering booking! By the way, #the vehicles at this store are very well maintained. We had no problems or discomfort during the ride! Using our small contribution, #using electric vehicles for travel can reduce the consumption of petroleum or use it in other situations where it is more needed, adding a special meaning to the trip!

I was looking for a way to get from Kaohsiung Station to Xiaogang Airport in the early morning, but I couldn't find any information. Later, I discovered that there's an early morning bus in Tainan that can get me to Xiaogang Airport by 5 AM. Although the ticket has a specific time limit and I can't be late, the overall experience wasn't bad.

My family and I only had one full day at Tainan and we were very glad that we engaged this service. Klook will update the booking details prior to the trip, but our driver, Mr Su also messaged us one day prior. He was professional, punctual, engaging and drove safely. We appreciated that he gave us many food recommendations and passionately shared about the places we went, even though we didn't opt for a tour guide during booking. He also actively discussed with us about the itinerary to ensure we had sufficient time at each spot, which we appreciated. We were especially touched when we found out that he even helped to call Jingzaijiao Tile-paved Salt Fields in advance to make sure they were open before we headed there, since it was closed for renovation a month prior to our Tainan visit due to Typhoon Danas. The car was also clean and comfortable. We have very fond memories of Tainan and we hope to book this charter service again the next time we're back. Highly recommended!

Buy the combo bus ticket + Sicao boat tour from Klook, very convenience. Just redeem physical ticket from the machine at the shop (refer photo) on the day we plan to use. The bus ticket is a Day pass, can use as many times as we want on that day. Just show it to the bus driver. We travel from Tainan bus station to Anping, walk around then hop to the bus to Sicao boat tour. After that, travel by bus back to Tainan bus station. Sicao boat tour is recommended. The green tunnel is amazing with trees at both side. Worth to visit.
