Magical Kamikochi experience (and lots of monkeys!) despite the weather.
I joined the Kamikochi 1-day tour yesterday, and even though the weather wasn’t ideal, I had a truly amazing experience! We hiked the trail from Taisho Pond to Kappa Bridge, and the scenery was absolutely stunning. A wonderful highlight was seeing a lot of wild monkeys passing right by us along the way:
A huge thank you to our tour guide, Mr. Gu Rung, who was incredibly kind, approachable, and spoke excellent, easy-to-understand
English. Our bus driver also deserves special praise-he was very patient and understanding with group members who ran late, keeping the trip stress-free.
The combination of beautiful nature, wildlife, and great hospitality made this an unforgettable day. I would absolutely love to book another tour with this company in the future!

Anyone who isn't sure which tour company to choose should take a look at my experience. My tour guide this time was Ryuu Ken (Little Liu), and he was absolutely wonderful! He is fluent in Japanese, English, and Chinese 👍 and is also extremely responsible! We had 1.5 hours at the Takayama Old Town and 2.5 hours at Shirakawa-go. I felt that 1.5 hours at Takayama Old Town was a bit short to fully enjoy it, but I still managed to eat everything I wanted to! The other members of the group were also of very high quality; the bus rides were super quiet, and everyone was extremely punctual. Based on my observations, there were foreigners, people from Hong Kong, and people from Taiwan! Our driver, Mr. Ishikawa, was also very skilled, and the bus was extremely clean with no strange odors or cigarette smoke. All in all, I highly recommend joining a guided day trip to Takayama.

It was a very fun and informative tour! Takayama and Shirakawa-go are very beautiful places. Our guide Stacey was very accommodating to our needs and kept us entertained throughout our tour. I would recommend this tour.

excellent tour with a good pace, 5 hour tour in the Ghibli Park was more than enough to explore the must see sights. Unforunately the entry ticket for Howl's moving castle was sold out on the day of visit, but it still was a nice experience to immerse yourself in the world of Studio Ghibli. Only a small fee to enter Witches' house etc, but it was worth it if you wish to see the house in real life. the frand warehouse has a little threatre and the 20 min show was excellent. Our Guide, Satomi was friendly and has been very attentive, she explained every must remember points for our tour. Also, Punctunality is a key in this tour, if you missed the meet up time, then the group will leave without you

Shirakawa-go and Takayama Tour is one of the best tours you can get in Nagoya. The tour consists of going to Takayama with some guided excursions. The orientation while inside the bus with the maps provided by the guide was enough for us to be well-guided with the best places to go in Takayama and Shirakawa-go. This tour provided observation deck access, which allowed us to take pictures and buy souvenirs. The tour in Takayama is one of the best tours we had since we were able to roam freely. In Shirakawa-go, we were also able to roam freely.

Since these locations are over two hours from Nagoya by car, it is definitely worth joining a local tour. The guide was excellent—responsible, well-organized, and provided plenty of free time, which was more than enough for the visit. I loved the first stop the most, it is well worth the trip.
The 'Silver Clock' meeting point is very easy to find, and the maps and suggestions provided by the guide were detailed and easy to follow. They also set up WhatsApp and WeChat groups to ensure seamless communication throughout the day.

Great experience overall! The attractions and activities are perfect for young kids, and they had a fantastic time. Best of all, there were virtually no queues, making the whole visit smooth, relaxing, and highly recommended for families with little ones!

Great aquarium with lots of dolphins, 2 belugas and an orca, which is not easily seen elsewhere. Good value for money for families with children who love animals. Lots of interesting information which you can use Google Translate as some of the information are in Japanese only.

Easily book your tickets with Klook and enter without waiting. Nagoya Castle has a completely different feel from Osaka Castle. Above all, I loved the scent of wood inside the building, and the elaborate patterns and paintings in each room were impressive. The staff were also very kind, which made the visit enjoyable. If you're visiting Nagoya, you should definitely go to Nagoya Castle. Klook states that the adult admission fee will increase from 500 yen to 1,000 yen starting October 1st.
