An awesome experience, impeccable service, and the manager is meticulous about dressing you properly. The outfits are classy and come in all sizes (I'm big and I was able to find a yukata that fit me). They lend you a t-shirt for the heat and sandals. Access to the nearby park is included and the scenery is magnificent...
Booked at 10:00 a.m., with a short wait; only two customers were ahead of us. Traditional kimono options were plentiful, but fewer lace options were available. The two staff members were friendly. Restrooms were available before putting on the kimonos. An add-on hair ornament rental cost ¥990. Unfortunately, it was raining, so we used the restroom in Suizenji Garden to stay warm.
I think it was the most memorable experience of my trip to Japan :) It is very easy to get to by taking the tram from Kumamoto Station, and the owner welcomed me very kindly and carefully fitted me! There were many types of kimonos and yukatas, and even the accessories were all pretty. I felt satisfied with the best service, including free admission to Suizenji Park, commemorative photos, bags, and socks. I would like to visit again next time. ☺️
staff was very friendly and helped us don the kimonos properly! shop is right next to entrance of garden and there is a small pouch we can put our belongings. very authentic experience
I was contemplating how to make meaningful memories, so I booked and visited. I arrived a bit earlier than the opening time, but they greeted me with smiling faces and even brought out a chair so I wouldn't have to stand, which made me feel good from the start. I didn't really have a specific design in mind, but I got recommendations and tried on clothes. I only tweaked the broad strokes, and I was grateful that the staff took the time to consider and choose clothes that suited me. I was a bit disappointed that the selection of men's kimono designs was a bit smaller compared to other clothing stores, but I still left with many good memories.
the experience was awesome, friendly and efficient staff members in the kimono store who prepared everything smoothly. but no hairstyle or make up provided which was a disappointment
We booked a branch at Suizenji Jojoen, but due to a delay in our schedule we didn’t have enough time to go there, so we went to Josaien to try our luck. As a result, the store owner was willing to let us experience it here. I don’t know if it’s because it’s late, but compared to the kimono shops in Fukuoka, I feel that this place is more rushed and commercial. Once you’ve done one step, you’ll be directed to the other side. Once you’ve changed into your kimono, you’ll be asked to go over and set your head, and the clerk will do it directly. We were not asked to choose our hairstyle. We chose our kimono, belt, bag and socks by ourselves, but when the selection took a long time (the choice was difficult), they would come over and give us advice. After the completion, the store manager would take photos of you in the museum and then invite you out. Take a tour on your own and come back at five o'clock.
The staffs are really friendly and kind. I was indecisive, but they are very patient to help to recommend kimono, socks and bag design (paid extra for the hairstyle). The kimono and hair accessories are really pretty... though it was somewhat unfortunate that the timing I booked after 10 minutes, there is more than 15 tourists from tour group that came by so it suddenly got busy and everything feels rush and somewhat lost. It would definitely be a better experience if it was quieter and less crowded but can't predict the sudden influx of people.
I made the mistake of going to wrong kimono rental branch. They were nice enough to let us rent our kimono there instead of sending us back to their other store. the only thing I had problem was the shoes and socks. the socks didn’t have any traction so it kept slipping around the shoes. I almost hurt myself several times. it was very dangerous and trying to keep the shoes on hurt my feet and it was painful. I have been to another kimono rental and I had no problem wearing the shoes for the whole day.
It's a great experience. The boss is very kind. The personal photos are beautiful. I can communicate in simple English. The children's hairstyle is very cute. Although it costs extra, it's worth it!
