great location, walking distance from restaurants, cafes, the famous hanamikoji street, etc. hotel is great too, very clean, easy check in and checkout, and kind and efficient staff.

no breakfast but its fine there are many convenience store nearby, hotel location is very convenient for bus stop and train station, about the cleanliness 10/10 😊 during our 2nights stay in the hotel it was really clean, the service is good also and the transport access its just 1min walk going to train station and bus stop ❤

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Fun to stay at a ryokan. WiFi kept disconnecting but if that’s my only complaint we were living well.

Lovely Japanese ryokan with lovely people, very accommodating with attention to details.., we felt at home sleeping family tatami style, in beautiful area of Kyoto with close proximity to all historic sites and gardens!

I stayed at Kyoto Gion Hotel and was very satisfied with my experience. The location was great, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the room was comfortable and clean. It made my stay in Kyoto enjoyable and convenient. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

This accommodation experience was not bad. Although I knew that I booked a smoking room, the smell of cigarettes was very strong from the time the elevator opened to the room. Apart from this, the room was larger than expected.

You must get the meal plan with your stay to get the true experience. Having the staff prepare your meal in front of you in your room and then preparing your room for sleeping is truly special. You feel nurtured. There is a very small but adequate onsen on the property as well. We stayed only one night and also walked around this “old Kyoto” neighborhood with its cobblestone streets. Staff was courteous and professional. We then moved on to another hotel a block away from Nishiki Market in “newer” part of Kyoto where there’s traditional stores and restaurants mixed it with modern ones.
