Universal Studios Japan has announced that the physical ticket booths at the entrance area will stop operating on 6 May 2025. This means that you will no longer be able to buy your USJ tickets in person.

Step 1: Go to the Universal Studios Japan Studio Pass page on Klook

Head to Klook and search for âUniversal Studios Japanâ in the search bar, or navigate to Popular Destinations > Osaka. Then click the Universal Studios Japan Studio ticket button, which will take you straight to the USJ product page and where you can view all available ticket types.
Step 2: Check the calendar for the date youâre visiting

On the Universal Studios Japan product page, click the 'All dates' button and select your desired date of visit. You will then be able to select the types of USJ Studio Passes packages available for that day.
Why are there different prices for USJ Studio Passes?
The USJ Studio Passes are priced based on the different seasonalities and demand - A/B/C/D/E/F - each with a corresponding selling price. A is the cheapest, while F represents the busiest period and hence will be the most pricey.
You donât need to figure out the category yourself; Klookâs calendar automatically shows the correct pass type and price for your chosen date.
Where can I find the Universal Studios Japan Studio Pass price calendar?

You can also check the official Universal Studios Japan website for the full pricing calendar. Calendars are released up to two months in advance, with one new date added daily at midnight (GMT+8).
For example, if youâre planning to visit on Monday, on the 24th, the calendar indicates âEâ, hence the price reflected will be that of the 'E' pass to enter the park on that day.
Klook Tip: We understand that your travel plans might change. Fret not, your USJ Studio Pass is valid for 90 days from the selected date of visit. You may use it for any dates displayed on the calendar corresponding with your pass type A/B/C/D/E/F.
For example, you booked your ticket for 29 June 2026 (Pass type C), but decided not to go due to poor weather. You can still visit USJ on another Pass type C day, e.g. 30 or 31 June 2026 â no additional reservation required!
Step 3: Choose your pass type and add to cart

Once youâve confirmed your date, decide on the duration that suits you: a 1-Day, 1.5-Day, or 2-Day Studio Pass. If you want to pack more in, the following bundles are also available on Klook:

Klook Tip: An Area Timed Entry Ticket is necessary to enter Super Nintendo World. You may get one after entering the park via the USJ App [Apple Store | Google Play] or at the Park Ticket kiosk at Central Park. It is also included in selected USJ Express Passes, read on for more details.
Now that youâve already determined which ticket or bundle you want to purchase, select your ticket category, intended date of visit, and desired quantity then add to cart!
Step 4: Pay for your ticket/s
Klook accepts major credit and debit cards, as well as a range of e-wallets and other payment methods. Once youâve reviewed your cart, complete your payment to secure your booking.
Step 5: Use your Klook e-ticket to enter USJ
No need to print tickets, you only need your phone and USJ e-ticket to enter the park!
After payment, youâll receive an order summary by email. Once your booking is confirmed, a second email will arrive with your e-ticket. You can use this directly from your Klook app or email to scan in at the gate, no printing required!

If youâre trying to hop on as many rides as possible when visiting the theme park, then you may want to consider getting a 1.5-Day or 2-Day Studio Pass. You can also opt for an additional USJ Express Pass to help you skip the queues!

How to buy an Express Pass for Universal Studios Japan?
If you want to skip the queues on USJâs most popular rides, an Express Pass is well worth the extra spend, particularly during busy periods. Hereâs how to buy one:
- Add your Studio Pass to your cart first. The Express Pass is an add-on, not a replacement for park entry.
- Search for âUSJ Express Passâ on Klook or find it alongside the Studio Pass product.
- Choose the tier that covers the rides you want to prioritise.
- Select your preferred timeslots â Klook lets you pick when you use the pass for time-designated attractions.
- Complete your purchase and receive your e-ticket.

Why do Express Pass timeslots matter?
Each Express Pass assigns you a specific time window per ride. For example, if your Spider-Man slot runs from 10:40 to 11:10 AM, youâll need to arrive at that attraction within that window to use your skip-the-queue benefit.Â

How to get to Universal Studios Japan from Osaka
Once you get off Universal City Station, follow the crowd to the exit and youâll find yourself at Universal City Walk!
Getting to USJ from central Osaka is easy, with a few options depending on your budget and group size.
By train
The quickest option is the JR Sakurajima Line from Osaka Station to Universal City Station, a journey of around 15 minutes. Trains run frequently throughout the day and itâs easy to navigate because there are lots of English translations!
By bus from Dotonbori
If youâre staying near Dotonbori, a direct shuttle bus is a handy alternative. Hop on the Dotonbori to USJ bus and secure your seat in advance; it drops you off right at the park entrance!
By private transfer
For a stress-free arrival, especially if youâre travelling with family or a group with luggage, a private transfer from Osaka to USJ is a door-to-door service that takes the guesswork out of getting there.
Klook Tip: If youâre flying into Kansai International Airport, the JR Haruka Express connects to Osaka Station, where you can pick up the JR Sakurajima Line to USJ. Pre-booking your Haruka ticket saves time at the station.

Is 1 day enough for Universal Studios Japan?
For most visitors, one day is enough to visit the highlights, particularly if you have an Express Pass. You can visit Super Nintendo World, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, and several major rides in a single full day with a good plan. If youâd prefer a more relaxed pace without keeping an eye on timeslots, a 1.5-Day or 2-Day Pass gives you more room to breathe.
How many days do you need in Universal Studios Japan?
One day works well if youâre organised and have an Express Pass. Two days is also good if you want to revisit favourite rides, explore the park at a slower pace, or catch seasonal events that USJ regularly runs. If youâre going with younger children, or prefer not to rush, youâll find two days far more enjoyable than trying to cram everything into one.
What to know before going to Universal Studios Japan?
A few things worth sorting before you visit:Â
- The parkâs ticket booths are no longer operating, so online booking is essential.Â
- Studio Pass prices vary by date based on demand, so your visit day determines the price tier.Â
- For Super Nintendo World and Donkey Kong Country, youâll need an Area Timed Entry Ticket, available through the USJ app or at a kiosk inside the park after entry.
- Comfortable shoes are a must, as the park is large. Arriving before the gates open helps you get ahead of the crowds, especially at peak attractions.
Do I need to bring cash inside Universal Studios Japan?
USJ accepts both cash and card payments at most shops, restaurants, and food stalls inside the park. That said, it's worth carrying some yen just in case, as a few smaller kiosks and vending machines may be cash only. IC cards like Suica and ICOCA are also accepted at select locations, which can make smaller purchases a bit quicker.Â
If you need cash while you're there, ATMs are available at the Studio Pass Ticket Kiosk near the park entrance.
Does USJ have accessibility services?
Yes! USJ offers a range of services for guests with disabilities or mobility needs. A Service Guide Book is available at the Guest Services counter near the main entrance, which outlines all available accommodations, including wheelchair rentals, accessible restrooms, and priority boarding options for guests who are unable to queue in standard lines.Â
Guests who require additional support can apply for a USJ Accessibility Service pass (also known as a Priority Pass for Guests with Disabilities) at the Guest Services counter on the day of their visit. It's worth arriving a little early to sort this out before the park gets busy.
Is it better to go to Universal Studios Japan on a Saturday or Sunday?
Neither day is particularly better, but Sunday tends to be the busier of the two. Saturday mornings can be slightly easier if you arrive early and head straight to the top attractions. If you have any flexibility, a weekday, especially Tuesday to Thursday, makes a real difference to queue times. If a weekend visit is unavoidable, you need to book an Express Pass.
Do I need to book in advance for Universal Studios Japan?
Yes, do book in advance, especially for popular dates and Express Passes. USJ stopped selling most tickets at the park gates in May 2025, so youâll need to buy online (Klook is an official ticketing partner!).Â
Because Express Passes and timed-entry slots (like for the Super Nintendo World area) are limited, these often sell out fastest, so book the moment your date becomes available. You can book USJ tickets up to 2 months in advance, following the parkâs current release system.
What if I canât visit Universal Studios Japan on the date I chose?
That's okay! Just make sure to visit on any date that's specific to the price calendar of your purchased Studio Pass type. Your Studio Pass is valid for 90 days from your selected date.
For example, you booked your ticket for 20 August 2024 (pass type C), but decided not to go due to poor weather. You can still visit USJ on another pass type C day, eg. 23 August 2024 â no additional reservation required!
I donât know which ticket category to purchase because the date I want to visit isnât on the calendar.
If the dates that youâre planning to visit arenât released yet, you can check back again another time. You can book your USJ tickets up to 2 months in advance, following their current release system. Tickets for each date are released exactly 60 days ahead at 0:00 (GMT+8), with one new date released daily.
If I buy the most expensive ticket, can I use it on any day?
You may choose to visit the park only on days with the same price tier as your chosen package. So, even if you have the most expensive ticket (Studio Pass E), you still cannot visit the park on days under Studio Pass A, B, C, or D.
Do I need to print a ticket for the USJ?
No, you don't need to print out a ticket. You can use the e-ticket on your Klook App or email to enter Universal Studios Japan directly.
- After purchasing the tickets (Klook supports major credit/debit cards, e-wallets, and other payment methods), youâll receive an e-ticket.
- Enter the park with your e-ticket! No print-out needed.
Which ticket should I buy for Universal Studios Japan?
Depends on what you want to do for the day!
- If you just want park entry / a relaxed day: a 1-Day Studio Pass is for you!
- If you want to do lots of popular rides in one day (Mario Kart, Flying Dinosaur, Jurassic Park, etc.): add a USJ Express Pass (4 / 5 / 7 / 8 depending on how many rides you want to skip). Express Passes give timed priority access to selected attractions!
- If your top priority is Super Nintendo World or other timed-entry zones: get a package that explicitly includes the Area Timed Entry Ticket or an Express Pass variant that guarantees timed entry, otherwise you may need to secure a timed entry via the USJ app on the day (which can be competitive).Â
If you only have one day during a peak period, an Express Pass is your best bet to get more rides done!
Do Universal Studios Japan tickets sell out?
Yes, especially Express Passes! Studio Passes for high-demand dates (weekends, Japanese public holidays, Halloween, Christmas, event days) can sell out or be very limited. Express Passes and packages that include Super Nintendo World timed entry frequently sell out first, sometimes within hours of release.
