We traveled on the day Super Typhoon Bavi was affecting Taiwan, so we were very grateful that our Taiwan High Speed Rail trip still operated safely and wasn't canceled. It gave us peace of mind and allowed us to continue our travel plans without major disruptions.

I think it is the most comfortable way to travel to Alishan. The driving was so steady that I could easily fall asleep. Also, it’s great to have a tour guide to talk about the history of Alishan, and having a stop in the middle was great for a rest from the hours long journey.

I rented a scooter here (Yiliu vendor) as an American with an IDP (motorcycle endorsement) license and everything went perfectly. Super easy pickup and drop off - one of the guys speaks good enough English. I drove the scooter to the Alishan area with no problems. they didn’t even ask about insurance or gas. I would recommend booking here for ease

I highly recommend Driver Chen! He took our family to Miaoli today and we had a wonderful time. The driver was very punctual and polite, and incredibly hospitable throughout the trip. He proactively shared a lot of local history, culture, and information about other attractions in Miaoli, which greatly enriched our experience. The best part was the flexible itinerary, which he adjusted according to our needs. His driving skills also made us feel very safe. It was truly a fantastic private car charter experience, and I highly recommend it to everyone!

The "Xuyue" train is definitely worth experiencing. Listening to the guided tour along the way and admiring the ever-changing scenery outside the window is a very different experience from the "Shanan" and "Haifeng" trains. Although the train has restrooms, they are extremely small and are the original, unaltered restrooms from the forest railway. Unless it's an absolute emergency, there's no need to use them on the train. The Alishan Forest Railway is a truly unique experience. I hope Alishan focuses more on conservation and less on development. After visiting Alishan, I hope everyone will cherish Taiwan's treasures even more.

I have high expectations for an Alishan Day Tour and it never disappoints. Alicia made our tour comfortable and enjoyable. i aplaud her translation skills between Chinese/English to accommodate all participants of the tour. She also made tips which trail maximizes the experience of our trek plus which spot in the train to capture nice video shots. Definitely do not miss Alishan as part of your itinerary as pictures alone do not do justice how beautiful it is being surrounded by Cypress trees.
