Transport in Nantou

The Taiwan High-Speed Rail is truly impressive — fast, efficient, and incredibly convenient. Traveling between cities was a breeze, and the trains arrived exactly on time. The seats were spacious and comfortable, with plenty of legroom, clean interiors, and smooth, quiet rides that made the journey relaxing. Buying tickets was simple, either online or at the station, and the staff were helpful and professional. I appreciated the clear signage and easy boarding process — everything was well-organized and designed with travelers in mind. What stood out the most was the speed. In just a short time, I was able to travel across Taiwan without any stress from traffic or long delays. It’s the perfect transport option for both tourists and locals. Highly recommended for anyone traveling around Taiwan. Efficient, reliable, and world-class — the Taiwan High-Speed Rail exceeded my expectations!

I was looking for a way to get from Kaohsiung Station to Xiaogang Airport in the early morning, but I couldn't find any information. Later, I discovered that there's an early morning bus in Tainan that can get me to Xiaogang Airport by 5 AM. Although the ticket has a specific time limit and I can't be late, the overall experience wasn't bad.

I bought this to travel all over Taiwan collecting Dragon Quest Walk souvenirs. I had my ticket issued in Hsinchu and took a local train to Taichung. When I asked the station attendant how to upgrade to a limited express ticket, they told me to just buy a new ticket. Later, I was able to upgrade to a limited express ticket at other stations, so either the Taichung station attendant was mistaken, or they didn't understand me well because their English wasn't very good, and I ended up paying an extra ¥2500 unnecessarily. But even with that, I think I still came out ahead, so it's fine. Furthermore, with unlimited subway rides in Taipei, I was able to take buses to Jiufen and the National Palace Museum, so the only other transportation costs I incurred during the trip were for local buses in other areas. I think it's a pretty good pass.

We booked a private driver from Taichung to Sun Moon Lake and back, and it was a great experience. He was very friendly and always on time, actually a little early each time, which we appreciated. He didn’t speak English, but everything still went smoothly and he made sure we got exactly where we needed to go with no issues. He even helped carry our bags. Having the car all to ourselves was totally worth it, especially compared to dealing with buses and crowds. Overall, we couldn’t have asked for anything more and would definitely recommend this option.

Mr. Lee was very accommodating and approachable. He always offered help whenever we needed something, like stopping by 7-Eleven or giving us water. The driver was on time, courteous, and polite! Since public transportation isn't great in Chiayi, I tried a chartered car for the first time to explore. The entire trip was comfortable and convenient. I'm so glad I booked a car for my Korean family's visit to Taiwan! 🫶🏻
