Top 7 Tips to Travel Safely Post-lockdown

It’s safe to say no one could have predicted how wild 2020 would be...
Well, the good news is that better days are ahead and we are all very much looking forward to being able to travel (at least domestically) again - we can soon say hello to long leisurely lunches at vineyards, heading out on the open roads for a good ol’ road trip and spending some much needed time out in the sun.
While a Euro backpacking trip or going on a camel ride in the Moroccan Desert may be off the cards at the moment, here are some top tips on how to travel safely post-lockdown and fully embrace living it up locally!

    1. Always carry hand sanitiser and wet wipes

Always carry hand sanitiser and wet wipes
This is a pretty basic one, but we felt that it should still be top of the list. While you’re out and about, chances are finding a sink to wash your hands may not always be available - and hence why you should have a bottle with you handy.

    2. Look out for experiences with flexible booking policies

Look out for experiences with flexible booking policies
We think it’s fair to say that most of us would be keen for some outdoor activities at this point after months in iso - but committing to something during times like this would be tough for anybody.
That’s why at Klook, we strive to get the most flexible booking policies for our activities on the platform. For example, with an instant confirmation option- this will give you the freedom to book activities more spontaneously! On some of our offerings like tickets to the Melbourne Museum - we also offer an open date ticket, meaning that the voucher will be valid for 3 months after the date of purchase and you’re free to enter the museum any day of your liking within that period.
Anyone down for a sunrise kayaking experience tomorrow?

    3. Opt for experiences with flexible cancellation policies

Opt for experiences with flexible cancellation policies
In saying that...sometimes things do pop up and if you’re not comfortable with heading out anymore, that’s totally fine too. You’ll find that most of our activities also allow for free cancellation with at least a 24 hours notice - this grace period allows us to also consider the interests of these local operators (can you imagine if you were a skydive instructor blocking off your day only to find out last minute that you won’t be jumping out of a plane?!)
Jumping out of a plane at 15,000 ft above ground totally your vibe?

    4. Paperless e-tickets are a plus

    Paperless e-tickets are a plus
When heading out, you’d definitely want to minimise as much surface contact as possible - at Klook, you can bet that most of our activities offer pre-payment when you book and contactless check-ins, where the only thing you’ll need to take with you is a mobile voucher that gets sent to your inbox once you’ve purchased the activity.
So instead of waiting around in a queue at the door of the attraction waiting to purchase a physical ticket with cash, why not skip that hassle and pre-purchase your ticket on Klook?

    5. Go for small group tours

    Go for small group tours
While you’re out of the house, observing distancing rules is now pretty much the ‘new normal’ and common sense to abide by. Did you know that Klook offers small group tours to cater to just that? The Ultimate Penfolds Experience Tour in Adelaide would be a great day out with a small group of mates where the tour is capped at 10 per group.
On this tour, you’d be able to step into the Grange Cottage - the OG home of founders Dr Christopher and Mary Penfold themselves and discover hidden treasure troves of wine! What’s better is the intimate tasting session of Penfolds’ most awarded and sought after wines - sip, sip hooray!

    6. Private transfer over public transport

     Private transfer over public transport
If you don’t own a car and just not quite ready to jump back on public transport yet - another great option is to opt for a private transfer to get to activities that are not in the city.
This Fitzroy Island day tour offers convenient scenic transfers from Cairns and back - so no need to worry about renting a car or working out the most efficient public transport route! A day out on the water, anyone?

    7. Explore and wander out in nature

Explore and wander out in nature
Our last tip here is to head out to nature and explore the beautiful views that Australia has to offer! With such a diverse landscape, and plenty of space to roam it’s no wonder Australia has some seriously impressive national parks.
