When Can I Travel Domestically Again?

    [Updated 1 June 2020]
‘When can I travel domestically again?’ That’s the question on everyone's minds, and we know it feels like things are ever-evolving!
There is definitely growing optimism for domestic travel by day, so here’s a little peek into the state of domestic travel:

    1. New South Wales

Regional travel is allowed from 1 June in NSW, so you can now say hello to camping trips, bushwalking in the Blue Mountains and wine trips in the Hunter! A number of caravan parks and camping grounds will also be open from 1 June , but travellers should call ahead and confirm bookings, while travellers planning to visit national parks should check NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service for further information.
    Border open, no quarantine required.

    2. Victoria

Regional travel is also allowed from 1 June in Melbourne! Camping and accommodations are also allowed, as long as there is no use of shared facilities.
    Border open, no quarantine required.

    3. Queensland

Regional travel is now allowed in Queensland too, but don’t go astray too far as you still have to be within 150km of home. Hiking and recreational activities are also encouraged in National and State parks, but Queenslanders will not be allowed to enter the Outback.
    Border Closed.

    4. Western Australia

Most regional travel has been allowed since 29 May, excluding travel to biosecurity zones within the Kimberley region, parts of Shire of East Pilbara and the Shire of Ngaanyatjarraku and remote Aboriginal communities.
    Border Closed.

    5. South Australia

Restrictions have been completely relaxed and regional travel is now allowed and even encouraged as a way to support regional communities.
Border open, but 14 day quarantine required.

    6. Tasmania

Day trips are now allowed, with overnight trips also allowed from 15 June onwards.
Border open, but 14 day quarantine required.

    7. Australian Capital

Anyone in ACT can travel into NSW for regional travel, however it is encouraged that you travel using a private mode of transport, such as a private car, to minimise exposure to others.
    Border Open.

    8. Northern Territory

    Regional travel is now allowed.
Border open, but 14 day quarantine required.
