What to expect
Every November, the Fukuoka International Center welcomes the Grand Sumo Kyushu venue, one of the six major main events in Japan. This 15-day heavyweight event is not only an annual event that sumo fans look forward to, but also an excellent opportunity to experience Japan's traditional sports and spiritual culture up close. Top wrestlers from all over the country gathered in Fukuoka, appeared in a solemn ceremony, and competed on the circular earthenware ring. The scene was shocking and the atmosphere was warm.
As a spectator, you will step into the designated viewing seat of the Fukuoka International Center and immerse yourself in every aspect of the sumo match: the wrestlers appear on the stage, sprinkle salt to purify, stand up to confront, fiercely collide, and finally decide the winner. Every step shows a deep etiquette and tradition. Chinese translation support is provided on site, so whether you are familiar with sumo or not, you can easily understand the game process, the wrestler hierarchy and the cultural meaning behind it. In Fukuoka, encounter a sumo journey full of power and ritual.
