Reviews
This tour is the highlight of our trip to Fukuoka. it’s truly enjoyable to walk and tour historical places with an English speaking tour guide. The tour ended with a visit to the oldest sake factory. highly recommend this relaxing and easy tour for couples.
Our tour Guide name is Yoko Tateno If there was one thing I could say about her, it was that she was open, polite, and considerate individual. We really enjoyed her general company, and I gave her a 5 out of 5 star rating. Her english skill is competent. Here my thorough observation. She always 30 minutes in advance. We typically use a subway or a buses in maneuvering throughout the City depending on your schedule constraints. Fare and day card is provided. Ms.Tateno is will verse to History of Fukuoka. Please Do wear trainers or comfort shoes. The highlight of the journey was entering the Tochoji Temple's where she led dark room and having an out-of-this-world experience. I would not recommend it if you are claustrophobic. We are astounded by the elaborate sculpture design created by artisans who took only four years to complete and are meticulous in their attention to detail. Then we walk Across town to another temple discuss the various religions that mold the philosophy of Japan today. Hakata Machiya Folk Museum has a brief film presentation of Fukuoka's famed Festival. Next, we went to old and new shopping district had lunch with her. then we catch ride to another destination through subway to Ohori Park appreciated the seriousness of Ohori Park's man-made Japanese garden. Last stop visited the Sake brewery, where we had the opportunity to sample a variety of sake. Drink plenty of water to flush the sake or you'll become intoxicated. To summarize our trip is fun, entertaining and enjoyable. I really admire Ms Yoko Tateno in-depth familiarity Fukuoka. She deserves a 5 star review.
My boyfriend and I experienced a remarkable day exploring Hakata and Fukuoka, greatly enhanced by Yoko's incredible warmth, generosity, and the essence of Japanese hospitality. The tour offered a perfect introduction to the region, which was invaluable given our limited time in Fukuoka. Yoko also guided us to Kitsutei for lunch, a hidden gem we would have never found on our own. The ease of communication with the tour company and Yoko meeting us at our hotel in the morning added to the convenience. I wholeheartedly endorse this tour and Yoko's exceptional guidance.
We had Tateno Yoko as our guide for the 1 day Hakata Tour on 27 Feb ’24. Yoko-san had prepared notes and photos on lunch options - we selected Ramen eventually and had a good lunch at Tenjin (we should have gotten bigger bowls!) The tour involved walking, using public transport (subway) and we clocked perhaps close to 20K steps at the end of the 7.5hrs tour! Places covered include Jotenji Temple > Tochoji Temple > Kushida Shrine > Hakatamachiya Furusatokan > Kawabata Shopping Arcade > Ramen lunch at Tenjin > scenic & peaceful Ohori Park with yummy matcha & red bean dessert at Ohori Terrace > Japanese garden > Fukuoka Castle ruins (we skipped the Ishikura Sake Brewery in the planned itinerary as we were not keen for sake). This is a private tour (need min. 1 person) using public transport on Fukuoka City subway line. I will suggest that perhaps Designer Inc (Omakase Tour) could consider purchasing 1-day subway pass for tourists instead of having the guide queue up at each station to purchase ticket? We appreciate Yoko-san’s patience and accommodating us for tea-break, allowing us to return to Kawabata Shopping Arcade near end of tour to purchase souvenirs & tea. she also recommended juicy strawberries to buy and took nice photos for us! Our trip to Fukuoka was made more memorable with Yoko-san. we Highly recommend first time travellers to Fukuoka to consider signing up for this 1 day tour to learn more about Fukuoka and Hakata!
it was our first time in fukuoka... and we had ZERO knowledge how to get around, so we booked a tour on our first day to familiarize ourselves. we got MORE than what we expected, and we absolutely LOVE our tour guide Miyuki Yoshida-san, Yuki for short. Aside from the tour, She helped us also plan and prepare for the rest of our 5 day event, over and above what we expected. Yuki, you are a gem and a blessing! the tour was lovely, but our guide Yuki was lovelier. :)
I applied for a private tour because I was physically unwell during the Fukuoka Kichanji tour during the cruise where communication was not easy, and the staff waited calmly at the terminal and greeted me warmly, and we toured while coordinating our schedules. I liked how they tried to explain in detail every nook and cranny of the shrines, temples, museums, and the origins of Hakata while walking calmly. I also ate delicious fried food and did a great job shopping. They were very kind. I recommend them.
Our tour guide, Miyuki Yoshida is professional and very knowledgeable. The tour was very well planned. We learned about the Yamasaka Festival and had the best sushi lunch prepared by the chef in front of us. Our tour was capped by the sake tasting at the only Sake Brewery in Fukuoka. We appreciate all the little tidbits of information that made our tour very personal. Thank you Miyuki!
Great day with Kenny (Kinuyo Koikawa). She was very knowledgeable about the sights. Greatful for her and the company's flexibility. We had an unplanned trip to see the Reclined Buddha in lieu of a couple of original stops. Unplanned always the best!
very nice tour if you want to see some of the highlights of Fukuoka at an easy pace. Yoko, our guide, was very knowledgeable and gave a wonderful tour. Lunch is based on your taste. highly recommend.
We had so much fun during our tour. We visited alot of places even though it was raining. Our guide, Yoko, was very informative, helpful and very patient. Thank you so much, Yoko!
