What to expect
Step into a real Fukuoka kickboxing gym for a 60-minute training session. ANCHORAGE is a local gym in Hakata where Fukuoka residents train every day, so you train alongside locals—not in a separate tourist class
Start by wrapping your hands and learning the stance, then work through basic punches and kicks before gloving up and hitting the pads one-on-one with a trainer. Genuinely tiring, genuinely fun, and no experience needed
Evening slots at 6:30, 7:30 and 8:30pm mean the class fits after a day trip to Yufuin or Dazaifu rather than competing with it. If you already train at home, it is an easy way to keep going while you travel
Gear, towel, shower and cover for your own injuries included; wear rental available. 7 minutes on foot from JR Hakata Station, with no membership pitch
