Things to do in BE KOBE

The open-air bath was wonderful! The relaxation areas within the facility were also very well-maintained, so I was able to rest comfortably on the last day of my trip. My only minor disappointment was that most of the hot spring users were local seniors, and some tourists were talking loudly, making the bath area echo. While it's natural for families to converse, it would be great if tourists like us could be a little more mindful.

there are signs everywhere from the subway line to the herb garden. the garden is pleasant and well maintained. would recommend the roundtrip ropeway tickets if you like to spend time taking photos of the flowers and landscape. the ropeway brings you up to the top of the hill and you make your way down to the first station to take the ropeway back to the ground level.

Kobe Animal Kingdom is very accessible, located right down the stairs from the Port Liner exit. There is a good variety of animals inside. You can line up near the entrance to interact with cats and dogs, and some of the animals roam freely or fly around, meaning they will walk right past you, making the experience very authentic and fun. Be sure to check out the scheduled feeding times and shows. There are also optional paid activities where you can feed the animals yourself and participate in other experiences. Compared to a typical zoo, Kobe Animal Kingdom feels much closer and more engaging for interacting with animals.

This is a very worthwhile pass. I bought it during a 50% off promotion. You can choose 3 attractions to visit, or shopping/restaurant discount coupons. I used mine for 1 attraction and 2 shopping discount coupons. The total regular price of these three items was more than double the cost of the pass I purchased. It's also very convenient to use; just scan the QR code to enter the attractions, no need to queue up again to exchange for tickets.

Great day out and wonderful experience with Yuki. was great getting to know people on the trip. very well organised and great value for money. Would advise to set off early as the station can be very confusing - stick to exit 8 for the post office. We arrived with literally 1 minute to spare. lots of toilet breaks and food options. great locations with convenience stores along the way. We didn't get to see Mount fuji due to the weather. However the day was full of wonderful experiences! thank you Yuki and team

Anyone who isn't sure which tour company to choose should take a look at my experience. My tour guide this time was Ryuu Ken (Little Liu), and he was absolutely wonderful! He is fluent in Japanese, English, and Chinese 👍 and is also extremely responsible! We had 1.5 hours at the Takayama Old Town and 2.5 hours at Shirakawa-go. I felt that 1.5 hours at Takayama Old Town was a bit short to fully enjoy it, but I still managed to eat everything I wanted to! The other members of the group were also of very high quality; the bus rides were super quiet, and everyone was extremely punctual. Based on my observations, there were foreigners, people from Hong Kong, and people from Taiwan! Our driver, Mr. Ishikawa, was also very skilled, and the bus was extremely clean with no strange odors or cigarette smoke. All in all, I highly recommend joining a guided day trip to Takayama.

nice place to experience the legendary Kobe Beef. highly recommended when visiting Kobe. The staff who served us, Mr. Paolo was friendly and nice.

This was a really great meal and a fun experience. You cook your own meat in a heated bowl of broth (the sukiyaki), which makes it interactive and something a bit different. You’ll definitely be full by the end! One thing that isn’t immediately clear is that you have full access to a wide variety of dishes to reorder during the session—not just Wagyu, Kobe beef, and crab, but also items like eel and sushi (which come prepared). The eel dish in particular is the classic unagi over rice (unadon), served ready to eat rather than cooked at the table. You’re seated in a somewhat separate area from the locals 🙂, which actually works well, as the staff are extremely helpful and attentive. They guide you through how to prepare and eat everything, which is especially useful if it’s your first time. One thing to keep in mind: last orders are at 70 minutes, and you have 90 minutes total, so don’t leave it too late to order. Overall, a fantastic experience that I’d happily recommend. Robin Soole
