Arima Onsen is Japan’s oldest hot spring town, set in a scenic valley behind Kobe in the Rokko Mountains. With a 1,300-year history, it has long been a beloved retreat for emperors, nobles, and samurai. The town’s traditional streets, temples, and preserved architecture make it perfect for a relaxing stroll and a soak at the famous Taikou-no-yu. Located less than two hours from Kansai Airport and Kyoto, it’s an easy and charming day-trip destination. With this ticket, you can stay in the onsen for as long as you like during opening hours!

This trip to Arima Onsen was a very comfortable and convenient overall experience. Tickets can be purchased online in advance, and you will receive an electronic ticket immediately after placing your order. This eliminates the need to queue and the price is cheaper than buying on-site, which is a bonus for travelers. After entering, you will have your own locker and receive a personal card number. All purchases of meals, souvenirs, or additional services within the facility are charged to this card, and you settle the bill all at once when you leave, making the process smooth. After receiving the card, you can go to the clothing area to choose your favorite color of yukata, change your clothes, and go downstairs to wash and soak in the hot springs. There are indoor and outdoor hot springs. Soaking in the outdoor hot springs is particularly relaxing and comfortable. After soaking in the hot springs, there is also a relaxation sofa area where you can lie down and rest, take a nap, or read the manga provided by the facility. The entire space is very relaxing, and you feel like you could stay all day. In addition, you can pay to experience fish therapy, bedrock baths, massages, or dine inside. There are many choices. In terms of transportation, you can take a bus from downtown Kobe. The last bus from Arima Onsen back to the city is at 6:00 PM, with departures approximately every 30 minutes, so remember to pay attention to the time. If you are not in a hurry, I highly recommend scheduling time to visit Arima Onsen and relax.

Review for: Admission & Kobe Beef Sukiyaki Set Meal & Soft Drink

The Kobe beef sukiyaki was delicious, but there were only four slices of Kobe beef, which was a bit too little. The indoor hot spring and outdoor bath were absolutely wonderful, and there were quite a lot of local Japanese people there.

If you definitely want to experience both the gold and silver baths, this is the right place. The free shuttle bus right in front of the station makes transportation convenient. Some people say the baths are small for their size, but I didn't feel that way. The open-air bath was very satisfying. Perhaps because many people were in the water, I noticed a chlorine smell, just like a swimming pool. Also, try the free 30-minute sauna located before the entrance to the bathhouse. You can register for the waiting list in advance and go at your scheduled time.

a good value package with simple activation steps from purchase through usage. most importantly one could buy the package right at the doorstep of the facility and its so flexible that i didn't have to commit to a redemption date and time. this onsen is huge! multi level, with very well organized check in process, large changing room with thousands of lockers. a large indoor public bath area and 2 large onsen ponds, a stone sauna, steam bath, a cold pond, and 4 different outdoor onsen ponds. no time limit to usage. kobe beef sukiyaki was very delicious, its part of the menu of the in-house restaurant. . ala carte menu available and prices are reasonable if one doesn't want to buy the package. the location of this onsen is about 10mins walk from the bus stop with a bit of uphill walking. be sure to search for the spa location, not the hotel location.

I recommend a day trip to Taikounoyu Onsen. Buying a lunch package on Klook is cheaper than buying it on the spot. You can have a comfortable and relaxing day soaking in the hot springs, having lunch, resting, and then soaking in the hot springs again.

Review for: Arima Onsen Taiko no Yu Admission

I made a reservation in advance to use it when I went on a bus tour. Due to the nature of the tour, time is very limited, but you have to take a shuttle bus from the entrance of the Arima Onsen complex to get to Dino Koyu. It's too far to walk. If you come on a bus tour and the shuttle bus time doesn't match, you may miss the tour bus and experience a disaster where the taxi fare exceeds 500,000 won. Be sure to check the shuttle operating hours before using it. After taking the shuttle and the time became even tighter, there were 3 employees at the front desk, but each of them responded very slowly, which almost made me frustrated again. The staff were very friendly, but it took more than 15 minutes just to enter, and I still wonder why it took so long. There were a lot of local Japanese people, and it seemed like they were choosing the type of admission ticket, and I think it was probably because of the combination of choosing and calculating, as well as the typical Japanese relaxedness. From the perspective of a traveler who bought a ticket in advance and is short on time, I thought it would be helpful to operate a front desk exclusively for online purchasers. Put your shoes in the shoe locker, take out the key, and show it to the front desk staff along with your purchase ticket, and they will exchange it for a locker key. Be sure to receive the locker key and a bag to put your belongings in (the bag contains a towel). We forgot and they didn't give it to us, so we asked again and received it. And right next to it, you'll see a place where yukata sauna suits are stacked neatly. Choose the size that fits you and go to change. After changing, go down to the bath, take off your clothes again, and use the bath. The hot spring water was very, very good. I'm a bit insensitive to these things, but for the first time, I felt that the bath water was really good. After washing, my whole body felt soft and smooth, which was amazing. Moreover, it was snowing, so soaking in the open-air bath felt like a dream, felt unreal, and almost made me cry. If I had more time, I would have probably stayed in the hot spring for a long time. The facilities were clean and it was fun to try on the yukata-style sauna suit. However, the water pressure was a little weak in the individual washing areas, and the water-saving shower head was a little uncomfortable. There were many hair dryers and it was clean overall. Highly recommend the bottled milk after the bath!

The open-air bath was wonderful! The relaxation areas within the facility were also very well-maintained, so I was able to rest comfortably on the last day of my trip. My only minor disappointment was that most of the hot spring users were local seniors, and some tourists were talking loudly, making the bath area echo. While it's natural for families to converse, it would be great if tourists like us could be a little more mindful.

Arima Onsen Taiko-no-Yu is conveniently located, has excellent facilities, and a very clean environment. The hot stone spa is also great, and buying tickets through KLOOK is very convenient. Overall, it's well worth a visit, though the outdoor hot spring area is a bit small.
