Things to do in Healesville Sanctuary (Zoos Victoria)

The tour guide was friendly, and we were able to efficiently visit the Puffing Billy Railway, Healesville, and Yarra.

We had an absolutely fantastic day touring from Melbourne — Puffing Billy, the Brighton bathing boxes, the Penguin Parade, and Koala Maru — and it was entirely thanks to our guide/driver. From punctual pickup to safe, smooth driving, everything was perfectly organised. Our guide’s warm, friendly manner made everyone feel welcome, and their local knowledge brought each stop to life: the history and charm of Puffing Billy, the best photo angles at the colourful bathing boxes, the respectful approach needed at the Penguin Parade, and fascinating facts about koalas at Koala Maru. 5 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Amazing experience at Puffing Billy Railway, the Penguin Parade, and the small zoo. It was very windy on this day, but we were still able to finish the whole trip on time. Thanks to our tour guide, Curtis, who provided excellent and professional service with detailed explanations at each location.

easy to find the meet up point and it was a fantastic trip. Driver/tour leader is a very fun person, Rod is the man. more importantly, the cellar door picked is very much on point and diverse in a good way. don’t miss Payten and Jones! the trip was made better by having a group of mate from different continental but all very friendly and easy to mingle.

Recommended ! Ill take this chance to help clarify a little bit, during winter, penguins return earlier hence our dinner meal may feel very rushed, but it is in the good interest of the tour guide to ensure everyone get to see the penguins. When nearing summer, penguins return a little later hence we would have ample time for dinner. Also, during winter, recommended to buy Premium or Plus as there are lesser penguins. Overall fantastic experience. Our guide was Curtis and he is bilingual, very helpful to explain in English and Mandarin. Also, tips is 5AUD per pax. I read some mentioned in the comments why its compulsory and it could have been included in the tour package. Ill help to clarify a little; tour package doesnt work this way. the tour fee that we pay goes to the company. Just like any tour package we signed up with any tour agency, it is required that we do a mandatory tipping each day to the guide and driver. So this is no exception cos its a day tour too. hope this helps!
