Things to do in Chishang

Rent a bicycle and ride Brown Boulevard, stopping at the Takeshi Kaneshiro Tree area, rice-field viewpoints, and quiet farm lanes. Continue to Dapo Pond for a lakeside loop, then try a Chishang bento, one of the township’s signature food experiences. Photographers should visit in the morning or late afternoon for softer light across the paddies. For a wider East Rift Valley itinerary, combine Chishang with Guanshan, Luye Highland, or Ruisui. Travelers with a car can also continue toward the East Coast National Scenic Area for a mountain-to-ocean route.
