Great 4.0
The itinerary was good and we enjoyed all the stops ourselves. The driver/guide was friendly but there was no guided tour, it was pretty much a transportation service with minimal communication.

Fantastic 5.0
I highly recommend this tour, which covers both natural landscapes and historical sites. Our driver and guide, Li Xiang, managed the time perfectly, allowing ample time to explore each location. We spent 1 hour and 50 minutes at the Tore Tore Market. The Senjojiki rock formations were absolutely stunning on a clear day, and the panoramic 360-degree view of Wakayama City from Wakayama Castle's main keep was fantastic. We had a great time. These attractions would be difficult to reach by public transport, making this one-day tour excellent value for money.

Fantastic 5.0
I had an amazing time with my guide, Kimi! Kimi was super knowledgeable and sweet during the tour, and was extremely engaging with my friend and I (we did a private tour for 2). We went to the tour knowing very little about the cultural significance aside from what we read online and finished a tour with a newfound appreciation for the Nachisan area. It is an understatement how much I enjoyed myself on this tour and I highly reccommend everyone to book this tour if they are going to see the nachi falls! Aside from the amazing guide, the tour company was also very responsive, providing email updates on who to contact and where to meet, making it very easy to find our guide on the day itself.

Fantastic 5.0
It was great to see a part of Japan that wasn't touristy and would have been difficult to access without a personal driver. Our guide was great and extremely sweet. She did not speak fluent English but was still very helpful and got us arouns safe. We highly recommend this tour if you would like to see a part of Japan that has more locals than tourist!

Fantastic 5.0
If you plan to explore the Northern Kansai region, this pass is a must-buy, as it covers all reserved seats without any additional charges. We used this single pass for our trips to Maizuru, Amanohashidate, Fukuchiyama, Yumura Onsen, Kinosaki Onsen, and Kobe before returning to Osaka! It's incredibly cost-effective for a two-day trip to Amanohashidate and the surrounding area! Price: Excellent value for money Included Transportation Services: The two-day pass for Amanohashidate covers all train, boat, and cable car fares for a short period, allowing you to save time and fully experience Amanohashidate. Pass Coverage Area: Valid throughout Northern Kansai, though you might not be able to visit everything. Redemption Instructions: You can exchange your voucher and reserve seats directly at the JR station in Kansai Airport, where Chinese-speaking staff are available. Service begins at 5:30 AM! Seat Reservation Process: You can reserve your reserved seats later at JR station automatic ticket machines or by speaking with staff at the JR ticket counter.

Fantastic 5.0
The Kansai–Hiroshima Pass is definitely worth it. It includes the sightseeing bus that lets you hop on and off at Hiroshima's major attractions, which saved me both time and money while exploring the city. I do feel that one day isn't enough to fully experience Hiroshima, as there are many more places worth visiting. The pass also offers excellent value because it can be used on JR lines to travel to other destinations within its coverage

definitely great value for money. the pass was easy to use and made the trip very enjoyable. you can buy the add on “limited” train ticket that does not require a change of train half way. I upgraded to the limited train on the outbound trip and took rhe regular trains back and it was just as easy. you literally just hop off one train, stay in the same platform and hop on the next to get back to the city. the unlimited bus ride in the mountains was fanatic too. just show driver the pass when you got off. saves a lot of money indeed. highly recommended.

What to know before visiting Wakayama

Quick snapshot of Wakayama and what people book

Wakayama attracts strong interest in attraction passes and guided tours, with bookings peaking in autumn and a quieter spell in late winter. Demand rises and falls through the year, so the city’s rhythm alternates between busy October months and much lighter February periods.

Best times to visit for crowds and prices

According to Klook booking data, the busiest month is October and the quietest is February. Prices drift through the year: Klook data shows September is typically the cheapest month for bookings, while March tends to be the priciest. If you want lower prices and smaller crowds, plan for September or other shoulder months; if you prefer peak-season atmosphere and the liveliest scene, aim for October. Note that demand and prices do not always move in lockstep — October sees the biggest demand spike while the very highest prices appear around March.

Tips for travellers

Most experiences here can be booked at short notice, so a spontaneous trip works well — Klook’s typical lead time is very short, though some travellers book a week or so ahead. For peak-month travel (notably October), consider securing popular attraction passes or tours earlier on Klook to avoid missing out.
