We’re so glad we decided to book our group tour with GoGoDay! From start to finish, everything was very well organised, making our trip smooth, enjoyable, and stress-free. A special thank you to our wonderful tour guide, Lui, who was incredibly accommodating, friendly, and helpful throughout the trip. We really appreciated how Lui shared interesting historical and cultural background at every place we visited. Overall, we had a fantastic experience with GoGoDay and would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a well-organised, enjoyable, and memorable group tour.

We participated in the Ine Funaya and Amanohashidate day tour, and we were extremely satisfied with the overall itinerary! ✨ In the morning, we went to Ine Funaya to take a boat and feed the seagulls. The scenery along the way was very beautiful, and having the seagulls fly alongside the boat was truly entertaining 🪽💕 In the afternoon, we headed to Amanohashidate and took the scenic coastal train to enjoy the views. The itinerary was arranged very smoothly, and we got to see all the highlights without feeling too rushed. I especially want to praise our tour guide, Mr. Liao! 👏 Guide Liao was very friendly and patient the whole way, explaining things clearly without constantly rushing everyone. His introductions to the scenic spots were also very lively, and he helped resolve any issues we encountered, making us three sisters feel very at ease on our first visit here. The atmosphere throughout the entire day was very relaxed and pleasant, and the timing was managed just right. There was adequate time to rest when needed, without the pressure of constantly rushing through the itinerary. We were so lucky to have such a great tour guide, which made this trip to Ine and Amanohashidate leave wonderful memories ❤️ If we have the opportunity to visit Kansai again in the future, we would gladly join a similar day tour again! 🌊🛳️✨

The tour guide spoke very gently and patiently, and was also very dedicated to resolving any issues we had. The only minor drawback was that the itinerary was a bit tight. We happened to go on a weekend, plus it was a special holiday in Japan, so there were huge crowds and long queues for everything. This meant we didn't have enough time to eat proper meals and had to grab quick snacks, which felt a bit rushed. However, the sea and Amanohashidate were truly beautiful. The final seagull feeding part was a little disappointing; the lower deck of the boat was already full, so we had to go to the upper deck and stand in the sun to feed the seagulls. But there seemed to be very few seagulls, and we ended up eating most of the shrimp crackers ourselves. We were lucky if we fed even one. I'm not sure if it was because there were so many people that the seagulls were already full. For this kind of trip, it would definitely be better to go on a weekday next time to avoid the crowds and long waits for everything.🥺🥺

Richard the tour guide was helpful and responsive. The tour included beautiful views in Amanohashidate. Chairlift and Sky Cycle were a surreal experience at Amanohashidate Viewland. Boat ride was a fun experience feeding the Seagulls and Kites at Ine Bay.

The day's itinerary was incredibly rich and fulfilling, and the bay was absolutely beautiful. It was a truly memorable experience, where we saw many seagulls following the boat. Amanohashidate was stunning, and there were bicycles on the mountain for taking photos. The sea train saved us a lot of hassle.

A guided tour with gorgeous and peaceful scenery. This was perfect to escape the crowded city, and learn about Kyoto’s local culture and history. We first went on a retro train, then on the Amanohashidate sky chairs. Later we explored the town of Ine and finished with a cruise where we fed seagulls and eagles. The trip was well organised and our guide, Singh was very helpful and informative. He can speak multiple languages fluently, which was helpful as our tour group was very diverse. He injected humour into his speech which made the tour more enjoyable. My friend and I are from Australia and this was our first time in Japan. This tour made exploring Kyoto feel seamless and would definitely recommend to try it!

What to know before visiting Maizuru

Year-round highlights and busiest seasons

Maizuru’s activities are dominated by organised Tours, which shape the city’s experience through the year. Demand climbs into late winter and peaks in March, then eases through spring and drops sharply toward December.

Best things to do for different travellers

Families will find guided Tours convenient — they tend to be straightforward to join and work well for mixed ages. Couples looking for a relaxed, curated day out also gravitate to Tours, which suit shared exploration and local insight. Solo travellers and small groups can use those same Tours to meet others or cover highlights efficiently without fuss.

What travellers should book ahead

What travellers from Global book ahead Most visitors book with modest lead time: Maizuru bookings are often made around two weeks before arrival, though the earliest planners secure spots roughly a month out. Booking ahead matters most in the peak month of March, when availability tightens.

How the categories compare for price and suitability

Tours are the clear focus here and also represent the most accessible entry point — they’re listed as the cheapest subcategory and offer the broadest range of options. That means you’ll find everything from entry-level to slightly more premium guided experiences within the same category, making Tours the easiest way to tailor your budget and group type.
