Fantastic 5.0
Got ourselves a 7-day Global Pass and travelled through 5 countries. Buying the pass was easy but how to use the app for activating the pass will need some time to learn. However, fear not as there are many experienced people out willing to share. Do some readings and join some fb travel groups and you will surprised by the information available. The pass was flexible but the train schedule can be unpredictable which means you need to be updated requently to stay on course of your journey. We only experienced one hicccup on one of the trips at Berlin due to seat reservation issue and missing the connecting train due to delay of the first train. The other trips were as planned.

Easy to use. I have used the voucher at the exit airport exchange for the paper tickets. Then I went to the line and gave the ticket to them.

Fantastic 5.0
Navigating the outdoor bus station was tricky with so many local buses moving around. To avoid getting lost, match your bus to the photo—it really helps. Don’t bring luggage on this one, though! It’s a quick and easy ride to the departure hall, just 15 minutes to Marco Polo Airport.

Great 4.0
You need to arrive at the meeting point very early and wait. There are tour buses from other groups on-site, so be careful to identify the correct one. Each group has about 30 people. The bus ride is quite long, but there are rest stops along the way where you can shop and use the restroom. The tour guide on the bus provides information in English and Spanish, but keeps it concise to allow everyone to rest. After getting off the bus, you need to take a boat into Venice. The tour guide on the boat will point out major buildings. Once in the city, the tour guide separated the group into English and Spanish tours, and showed us a few key locations. After about half an hour, we were given free time. The time spent on the island is about 3 to 4 hours, and we need to gather at 15:50 to leave. The tour guide repeatedly emphasized the importance of being on time, and reiterated the meeting point several times, because they won't wait if you're late, as it's not a private tour. Some people paid extra to take a gondola ride (30 euros), which required them to meet at 14:10. If you want lunch, there's practically no time to explore the city. Overall, I was satisfied with the trip, except for the somewhat long bus ride, but that's unavoidable. I had previously looked at taking the train, which also takes 2.5 hours and costs nearly 1000 HKD round trip, without any guided commentary, so I highly recommend this tour. Next time I have the opportunity to visit Milan, I might take the Cinque Terre tour.

Tips before visiting Venice

1. Visit early or late to avoid crowds

Venice can get crowded, especially around San Marco and Rialto Bridge. Plan to visit main attractions early in the morning or later in the evening. You’ll enjoy a more peaceful experience and better photos.

2. Bring comfortable shoes

You’ll walk a lot in Venice since there are no cars. Wear comfortable shoes for walking tours along narrow streets and bridges. Water-resistant footwear is handy, especially if visiting during high tide.

3. Use public transport wisely

Water buses (vaporetti) are the easiest way to explore the Venetian Lagoon and reach Murano or Burano. You can also use Google Maps to check routes and schedules.

To make your trip even smoother, book your Venice Pass through Klook for easier access to public transport and top attractions around the city!
