Was diesen Ort einzigartig macht, ist der Kontrast zwischen den beiden Seiten des Bahnhofs. Die Ostausgangsseite, wo sich das Hotel befindet, ist nachts viel ruhiger, viele Häuser dimmen ihre Lichter früh. Andererseits ist die Zenkoji-Ausgangsseite (die rechte Seite des Tores) sehr lebhaft und glamourös. Die Stadt fühlt sich an, als hätte sie zwei völlig unterschiedliche Gesichter! Ich bin sehr zufrieden mit dem einfachen Zugang zum Bahnhof und zum Busbahnhof. Von hier aus können Sie bequem einen Bus zur Alpenroute, nach Hakuba, Kamikochi oder zum Jigokudani-Affenpark nehmen. Der Zenkoji-Tempel ist ebenfalls in der Nähe, etwa 15 Gehminuten entfernt. Der nächste Waschsalon ist etwas über 1 km entfernt.

We stayed here with plans to visit Togakushi Shrine. While it's a short drive to Togakushi Shrine, the hotel's location in Nagano City made it easily accessible and very convenient for sightseeing. The hotel's parking lot was full, so we used a nearby affiliated parking lot. It was closer than we expected and didn't feel like an inconvenience at all. The staff at check-in were courteous, and the room was well-equipped with amenities like toner and lotion sets, as well as coffee and tea. The room was clean and comfortable. Two complimentary bottles of water were provided, but since the coffee was made using bottled water, one bottle was used for that, leaving us feeling a bit short on drinking water. However, the hotel also has vending machines for drinks and a coin laundry on the first floor, which seems convenient for longer stays. Zenko-ji Temple felt a bit far to walk to, so we drove, but it was very close by car and convenient for sightseeing. Despite the affordable price, the room was spacious, allowing us to relax comfortably. We are very satisfied with our stay.

Overall, we had a pleasant stay at this hotel. The lobby had a lovely, refreshing scent that immediately created a clean and welcoming atmosphere. I recommend traveling by car, as it makes exploring nearby attractions and establishments much easier. Buses are available, but their schedules are limited. The food was good and offered great value compared with other hotels we have tried in Nagano. Most of the front desk staff, especially the female and international staff, were warm, polite, and welcoming. Unfortunately, one Japanese male staff member appeared visibly annoyed while assisting us, which felt less welcoming. Despite this, our overall experience was positive. The hotel is comfortable, convenient, and offers good value for money.

I really liked the hotel and my room; it’s a real shame I arrived late and left early. I hope I’ll have another chance to visit Nagano, explore the area a bit more—because it’s absolutely beautiful—and stay at this hotel for a few days. The room wasn’t cramped, the windows offered a great view of the city, and the location was quite good. It’s a shame I didn’t know the hotel ran a shuttle service from the station. It was rather unpleasant to have to trudge through the heat to the hotel after a long day, only to find the shuttle waiting at the entrance.

This is an excellent way to experience an authentic Japanese Ryokan. The twisting hallways, the spacious tatami mat rooms, the delicious breakfast, the onsen, and the kind elderly couple who run the whole place come together to make a homey and relaxing stay. It’s quite close to Zenkōji temple and along the main strip of shops making it an excellent location. If you are looking for a Ryokan in Nagano, I fully recommend this one.
