Old Summer Palace Garden ture

This was a wonderful tour of two of the must see's while in Beijing. The Great Wall was a wonderful experience and the Summer Palace was devine. The tour guide and drivers were wonderful, knowledgeable and very helpful. It was also fantastic vaue for the money!!

This 6-day in-depth Beijing tour is absolutely perfect, with highlights including the Palace Museum (Forbidden City) and Old Summer Palace. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and patient, sharing vivid stories of Ming and Qing royal history and exquisite architectural details when we visited the Forbidden City. The grand vermilion walls and golden glazed roofs left us speechless. We had plenty of time at the Old Summer Palace: we strolled along the peaceful Fuhai Lake with willow reflections, and paused by the ruins of Western Palaces to reflect on profound history, blending stunning natural scenery with valuable historical lessons. The itinerary was well-paced, accommodation clean and tidy, and private transfers were hassle-free with no forced shopping. It’s an immersive journey through thousands of years of Chinese civilization, highly recommended to all travelers!

Guiden forklarede det hele meget grundigt, hvilket gav os et klart indblik i layoutet af de tidligere kejseres feriebolig. Vi besøgte hver enkelt gårdhave og den smukke Kunming-sø. Hvis man ønsker at tage en bådtur på søen, koster det 40 RMB. Vi kom rundt i hele Sommerpaladset 👍

Under hele turen forklarede guiden Beijings rige historie og historierne bag hvert enkelt vartegn på en så let forståelig og spændende måde, at tiden fløj af sted. Det var skønt, at vi ikke bare så stederne, men virkelig fik lov til at mærke deres dybe charme. Ruten var særdeles effektivt tilrettelagt, og takket være guidens omsorgsfulde hjælp undervejs kunne vi rejse helt uden stress. De lokale restauranter og rejsetips, vi fik undervejs, var også et kæmpe plus! Jeg rejser herfra med vidunderlige minder takket være guidens smittende energi og ægte gæstfrihed.

I was impressed by the fluent English and the detailed explanations of Chinese history. The group tour allowed us to use the fast track, quickly passing through security checks, which saved us time compared to an individual tour. This meant we had more time to explore the historical sites. However, because the pace was quite fast, it was a bit difficult for our group, which included a child, to keep up, especially in the middle and later parts of the tour. Although the guide waited for us periodically to ensure no one got separated, considering we walked over 10,000 steps three times, I would recommend this tour to those who are reasonably fit.
