I highly recommend booking Shibuya Sky in advance for the very first time slot at 10:00 AM. From 10:00 AM onwards, visitors enter continuously by time slot, and since people don't just stay for an hour—many stay much longer—congestion builds up on the observation deck between the earlier and later groups. The more crowded it gets, the harder it is to take photos or comfortably enjoy the view. This applies to both Shibuya Sky and Tokyo Skytree. Personally, I preferred the structure of Shibuya Sky (45th floor, glass walls, open-air space, rooftop) over Tokyo Skytree (maximum height 634m, observation deck at 450m, entirely indoors). However, Tokyo Skytree might be a better choice during very hot or cold weather. Booking online through Klook is great because you can get about a 10% discount. Nowadays, if you don't book online in advance, it's practically impossible to buy tickets on-site.

💜Tokyo DisneySea Sparkling Jubilee Memories🌍 🎭Won the lottery for the "Dreams Take Flight" show. The storyline features Mickey and his friends building an airplane, with a pleasant surprise of adding the story of Coco. The actor for Coco also sang live. 🐟Nemo & Friends SeaRider is a dome-screen attraction that is relaxing and fun. 🚂Disney Transit Steamer is a very retro little steam train going from Port Discovery to American Waterfront. 🇺🇸American Waterfront has fantastic scenery in this area, with many spots showcasing great aesthetic sense and artistic appeal. 🐻Duffy and Friends Wonderful Friendship Lunch with Show Performance: booked the dining and show package. Watched the performance with the seven characters, and the atmosphere was lovely. 🎢Journey to the Center of the Earth: used DPA (Disney Premier Access), thought it was pretty good. The final drop on the coaster was thrilling, while the beginning was nice and cozy, giving a realistic sensation of going deep underground. 👸Rapunzel's Lantern Festival: breathtaking after the lights are turned on, but the overall experience is way too short. It is beautiful, though the story could be a bit more fleshed out. 🪽Peter Pan's Never Land Adventure: 3D plus dome screen, really liked it and felt very immersed. The flying sensation was amazing, the storyline complete, and the experience fantastic. ❄️Frozen: needless to say, used DPA. The storyline is extremely complete, and the experience is long enough. After watching it, it felt like reliving the Frozen movie all over again, very nice 👍 💙The overall atmosphere of DisneySea is wonderful. The entire year is themed around the 25th anniversary. The bright blue theme color is very memorable. My favorites are the atmosphere of the American Waterfront and the rides in Fantasy Springs. I also really loved the "Dreams Take Flight" show; it has a complete storyline, the dancers are fantastic, and the story transitions don't feel pieced together like a fairy tale book—it flows very naturally. Last but not least, thank you, fairy tale world 🌍

Incredible experience all around. I’m not usually a modern art enthusiast, because it more often than not lacks the soul and skill that makes art meaningful. But this exhibition is definitely worth your time. Also the tea house is really nice!!

Booking through Klook is incredibly convenient! You don't have to waste time waiting in line to buy tickets at the venue. Just present the QR code you received to the staff at the entrance for scanning, and you can exchange it for a ticket and go up to enjoy the view immediately. It's hassle-free, and you even get a better price than buying on-site. The views of Tokyo are beautiful and very impressive. If you're planning to visit Tokyo Skytree, I highly recommend booking in advance through Klook. It's definitely worth it and meets all expectations! The convenience of booking through Klook:

Great day out there, been to the London one first and this one completely washed it out the park. So much better with all of the attractions and stuff you can see. This is a must if your a harry potter fan.Even the cost to go to Japan and a very long flight for.

I really liked it. we had it booked for 19:30. arrived at 19:40 and were lead right in. inside us really nice. I loved the water part. It felt nice to walk through the water parts and the whole thing was very comforting. Just know that you will have to take of your shoes for the first part.

1. If you go at night, the background (the observatory wall behind the person taking the photo) will reflect a lot in the glass. It's best to find a position and angle where there's minimal reflection. 2. It's definitely prettier at night. Because of this, you might even have to wait in line at spots with the Tokyo Tower in the background. Be aware that some people might inconsiderately take photos for a long time in the same spot. 3. The entrance and exit are different, and you have to walk all the way around. The closer you get to the exit, the less you can see Tokyo Tower, but it's quieter and there are places to lean and take photos, so the atmosphere is better. (However, if you like night views, the scenery around Tokyo Tower is still better.) 4. How to enter: Find the Mori Tower Gallery and take the elevator to the 3rd floor -> Buy tickets at the 3rd-floor ticket office or present your pre-purchased ticket QR code -> Follow the instructions and take the elevator to the 52nd floor in order (scan your QR code to enter).

The Tokyo National Museum was absolutely worth visiting. The collection is much larger than I expected, with an incredible range of Japanese art, historical artifacts, Buddhist works, samurai-related pieces, ceramics, and treasures from different periods. I especially enjoyed how the museum gives you a chance to see the development of Japanese culture and craftsmanship up close. The buildings and galleries are spacious and peaceful, so I never felt rushed while exploring. I would definitely recommend giving yourself at least a few hours rather than trying to squeeze it into a short visit. Booking through Klook was also simple and convenient. A great place to visit in Tokyo, especially if you’re interested in Japanese history, art, and culture.

We had such a lovely time at Sanrio Puroland! It was so cute, fun, and full of adorable Sanrio characters. We especially loved that it’s all indoors, which made it comfortable to enjoy even when the weather wasn’t ideal. There were lots of cute spots, attractions, and things to see. Such a fun and memorable experience, especially for Sanrio fans! 💕✨

What to know before visiting Tokyo

Top experiences that define Tokyo across the year

Tokyo’s most-booked experiences centre on panoramic Observation decks and Museums, followed by big-ticket Theme parks, Cultural experiences and a variety of Tours. Demand drifts through the year, dips around June and peaks in October, so the city feels busiest and most in-demand in October and quietest in June.

Best picks for families, couples and solo travellers

Families will find Theme parks and Museums especially rewarding — theme parks offer the spectacle and mid-to-premium price points families expect, while museums are a reliable, family-friendly option. Couples often favour Observation decks and Cultural experiences for memorable views and intimate, local-flavour activities. Solo travellers and small groups will get the most from Tours and Museums, with guided options giving easy ways to meet people or dig into niche interests.

What travellers from Global should book ahead

Most visitors keep some flexibility in Tokyo because a typical trip length is around 12 days, but many still secure key tickets earlier: early planners book roughly three weeks ahead. Booking ahead matters most in the October peak months, when demand is noticeably higher; last-minute bookings remain possible for many activities a day or two before.

How the main categories compare on price and who they suit

Observation decks are the easiest, entry-level way in — they’re typically the cheapest category and a straightforward pick for most visitors seeking a skyline moment. Museums sit a touch higher on average and suit culture-minded travellers and families. Theme parks rank at the priciest mid-point and cater to families and anyone after a full-day spectacle. Tours offer the widest spread of prices and experiences, from budget-friendly walks to premium private excursions, making them the most versatile choice for different budgets and group types.
