Things to do in Dali

Tour guide: When planning the trip, I inquired with several travel companies, specifically asking if they had female guides. Klook recommended Sister Mei to us, saying that customers who had been with her thought she was exceptionally good. So, after comparing several options, we embarked on a five-day, four-night journey with Sister Mei as our driver. Unexpectedly, Sister Mei turned out to be a fantastic guide – patient, meticulous, conscientious, and responsible. She took everyone's feelings into account and took care of us without us having to say much. Sister Mei thoughtfully prepared fruits, snacks, and local delicacies for us. She never rushed us, cared about whether we were warm enough, and demonstrated excellent driving skills on difficult roads. I knew choosing a female driver and female guide wouldn't be a mistake!

My friends and I loved the private tour!! Our driver, 茶金, was very knowledgeable and friendly throughout the tour, amazing music choices too. He suggested places for us to go and even recommended us a place for lunch that was well known and loved by locals! The restaurant specialised in local Bai Ethnic Group cuisine and it was amazing, one of the best meals we had. I highly recommend booking your private tour from them, it will be definitely memorable and super worth it as it covers most of the internet famous and must go places in Dali.

The experience of this trip was very pleasant, and I will definitely come back. After all, Yunnan is such a beautiful place that it would be impossible to see everything in just one visit. Overall, I am quite satisfied with the tour. One of the main advantages of joining a guided tour is that everything is taken care of for you, so you don’t have to worry about anything. The itinerary includes all the major attractions, and the meals served on the tour bus are decent, with good flavors and plenty of food. The hotels are clean, comfortable, and relatively quiet, providing a good opportunity for rest throughout the trip. Breakfast is also excellent, and there is a different guide available at each location. Overall, I am very satisfied.

The itineary managed to cover the highlights of Dali which was great. The driver/ guide communicated with us via WeChat as we do not speak Mandarin. He was attentive to our needs. We were fortunate to get an upgrade to a 7-seater van. There were tickets that were not included in this tour: Flower Garden at Santorini area: 60+ yuan/pax and electric car at ancient town 60+ yuan/pax (free for our 2 & 4 year old children). Tip for Muslims joining this tour: driver will bring you to a non-halal restaurant, buy lunch instead at the boat docking area next to the ticket station, restaurant has a big green sign which you will not miss. There will be about 30mins+ waiting time before docking the boat. You may eat in the boat as it is about 40mins travel time to S bay. Overall it’s a recommended tour within budget as tour with an English guide could easily costs 2-3 times more.

Don't even know where to start. Everyone was so AMAZING. i was lost and a staff member went to collect me, spoke in english with me to explain everything, remembered i have food restrictions.. first costume i tried on i didnt like so the girls helped me to try more until i absolutely liked it. my make up, my hair.. amazing. food, amazing. performance, amazing. everyone was so nice and kind to me, i have no words to express my gratitude. the place is beautiful for you to take pictures. honestly try this, i wish i was more time in Dali to do it again. to everyone my sincere and heartfelt thank you, was an experience i will never forget. 🤍

Had a wonderful day trip to Dali Ancient City, Shaxi Ancient Town, and Erhai Lake. The guide William was super friendly, patient, and genuinely cared that we enjoyed the day. He was also very knowledgeable about all the places we visited. Really appreciated his enthusiasm and hospitality!

Location: The sign isn't very obvious, so don't miss it. Service: Exceptional. Polite, gentle, and provides detailed guidance. We weren't very good at crafting the roof cat fridge magnet, and the staff patiently helped us from start to finish, spending almost 4 hours including waiting time, without a single complaint. The experience is well worth it; you can feel the craftsmanship culture of Yunnan art. Overall, a fantastic experience! Highly recommended! In addition to a variety of craft experiences, many places in the store reflect the owner's dedication! It's a very meaningful store.
