Fantastic 5.0
The entire experience with pickup is about half a day, you only spend less than an hour in the water. The drive from Reykjavik is about 45 minutes, prep time of getting into the suits, and briefing is about an hour. When you finally get in the water you are treated to some of the most beautiful and drinkable water I’ve ever seen - don’t drink too much or you may end up buying your suit. If you are lucky to get some sunshine while you snorkel the water elevates to something mind blowing. The only downside to this adventure is that the area is inhabited by minges who are incredibly annoying so be prepared to constantly swat them or look silly so they don’t bother you. You end up in a small group with a guide which makes the experience even better. I would easily do this experience again.

It was absolutely a wonderful trip for us. The bus was so comfortable that we did not feel tired though the travelling distance was more than 800km. Geri who was our guide was a wonderful guide. We were able to see the iceberg and other natural heritages of the South Coast. Absolutely amazing!!!!

We had Petra and Dean bring us around and I must say this was really fun! they changed the locations on the spot depending on the possibility of the aurora and the weather and we had a FANTASTIC sighting near Keflavik! the two of them are so spontaneous and kept us on our toes! I loved it!

Great trip! Our guide was a retired Icelandic man who is very knowledgeable. I have brought some snacks with me and decided to skip the dine-in lunch. The guide arranged me to take a scenic hike trail around the town of Arnarstapi. Highly recommended!

Our guide Anya is just amazing. She is very knowledgeable about the glacier and explained very well. she is extremely careful about safety of every team member. She held the hand of a team member who had some difficulties walking to make sure she got to enjoy the hike. very caring guide. We are so lucky to have her. Thank you Anya.

Jessica was a fantastic guide from Bus Travel Iceland-friendly, knowledgeable, and engaging throughout the trip. We were lucky to have sunny weather, which made the views along the road even more stunning. The tour was well organized, everyone stayed on schedule, and the experience was smooth and enjoyable. Highly recommended when visiting Iceland!

Fantastic 5.0
On the way there, we stopped for a 15-minute break to buy lunch, then headed straight to Vik. From there, we transferred to a Super Jeep for about half an hour to reach the glacier, where we put on crampons and helmets. We then walked for about 10-15 minutes to enter the ice cave. It was extremely cold due to heavy rain/snow. The ice cave wasn't very big, but it was beautiful and definitely worth seeing. On the return trip, we stopped at two waterfalls before heading back to the city.

The captain tried their best to look for whales/ any wildlifes during the boat ride. We saw dolphins at the end.

What to know before visiting Reykjavik

Top experiences to expect through the year

Reykjavik’s best-booked experiences are tours, followed by outdoor and sports activities, with museums and events filling out the rest — tours dominate demand across the year while outdoor adventures pick up strongly in the busiest months. Demand rises toward 10月, making autumn the city’s peak season for bookings, and falls to its lowest in 5月.

What different travellers tend to choose here

Families often opt for guided Tours and Museums, which fit well when you want organised, informative days that work for mixed ages. Couples are drawn to Outdoor & sports activities and Events & shows for more active or atmospheric shared experiences. Solo travellers and small groups can find quick, affordable options among Indoor games and shorter Tours, or join Outdoor activities if they want a broader range of choices.

What travellers book ahead

What travellers from Global book ahead Most things in Reykjavik can be booked with some flexibility, and many visitors still lock in key experiences about 12 days out on average; the earliest planners tend to reserve around 49 days ahead. Booking ahead matters most in 10月, when demand peaks and availability tightens.

How the activity categories compare on price and fit

Indoor games are the easiest, most budget-friendly entry point, while Outdoor & sports activities sit at the top end and also have the widest range of prices, so they can suit both adventurous budget travellers and those after premium excursions. Tours occupy a solid mid-range position and appeal to travellers wanting convenience and context. Museums and Events & shows generally sit lower on the price scale and are well suited to culture-focused visitors or anyone after lower-cost options.
