Snow Monkey Park, Zenko-ji Temple & Nagano Foodie Tour from Tokyo or Nagano

Fumiko was a fantastic guide, she was informative and friendly. We got to ask a lot of questions and have a lot of laughs through our broken japanese. It was a solid full day, not too difficult for walking, but we were tired because it was hot and sunny out. We got really lucky and had Fumiko all to ourselves, but we ran behind schedule when we were waiting for Soba in Obuse (it was tasty and worth it, i wish i had more time to go back there and explore more). We purchased our own souvenirs and food, but everything else is included in the ticket price. The biggest highlight was all the baby monkeys running around at the Monkey Park, but I personally really enjoyed the historic Miso brewery (as a foodie).

This was a wonderful day! In Nagano, our guide was ready to meet us (the meeting point is super easy and close... not far from the train ticket exit) We all walked together to the bus, which was comfortable, clean and had pretty gems hanging from the ceiling lights. The miso production was interesting and felt homely as we walked through learning about everything. (And the miso was delicious). The highlight was the snow monkeys...we had perfect weather with light snow. I recommend comfortable shoes as it's a bit of a walk to get to the actual monkeys, especially if it's snowing/raining (beautiful scenery along the way). Lovely day with a nice variety of activities. Our tour guide and driver were both lovely as well. Highly recommend this tour!
