Reviews
Taking on the express bus to Takayama was a delightful experience from start to finish. The comfortable seats provided a cozy setting for the journey, while the picturesque landscapes outside the window captivated throughout. The punctuality of the service ensured a stress-free travel experience, allowing ample time to explore Takayama upon arrival. Overall, a highly recommended option for those seeking both comfort and convenience on their journey to this charming destination.
They are all great and value for money, except that five hours is not enough time (not a problem with the itinerary). The ride experience and the attitude of the drivers are great.
We departed from Nagoya Station exactly at 7:15, and the driver drove safely and arrived in Takayama a little after 10:00. There was a spring festival going on in Takayama at the time, so there was a lot to see and it was great to see cherry blossoms as well. I found a library in an alley I went into to avoid the crowds and took a look around, which was great. This is a place I want to come back to next time.
This is a recommended tour who wants to explore Takayama on your own. Bus driver picks you up from VIP Bus stop not at VIP lounge! It is less than a min walk from VIP lounge stated in the itinerary.
Make your own itinerary and spend a wonderful afternoon in-depth experiencing the traditional beauty of Takayama ancient streets and the delicious taste of Hida beef
This one-day tour is more of an auxiliary transportation function. There will be no tour guide contact before departure, and you need to arrive at the meeting point on time. But the meeting point given was wrong. The meeting point should be the Nagoya VIP Liner bus station, not the Nagoya VIP Lounge. Fortunately, it was not far away and I could find it in time, otherwise it would be really troublesome.
This is exactly as it says: a bus transfer. There is no guide, just a Japanese speaking bus driver who was perfect at staying to his schedule. The bus was very comfortable and it made 3 stops along the way for bathroom breaks (there is also a toilet on board). I think the breaks were a little too long given that the drive should only take around 2 hours. We added 45min to the trip because of each of the rest stops. We were lucky enough to go during the Spring Festival and there was plenty of time to explore and see Takayama. It made for a nice day trip.
There is a toilet in the car. There will also be a few rest stops along the way, and there will be plenty of time to go to the toilet and buy food, so you don’t have to worry about sitting tired.
The driver will help you reserve a seat in advance and tell you the seat number before getting on the bus. The coach has 4 seats in each row and the seat backs can be lowered.
It is a very cost-effective and convenient choice for tourists who only want to go to the mountains. However, if you want to travel to the mountains in depth, the stay time will still be a bit insufficient.
