Tokyo: Shinjuku Local Bar & Izakaya Crawl Tour

Had a fun time! We had 15 people in our tour group. checked out an Izakaya and our host ordered different food and drinks for us. Was good trying out different yakatoris. We then did a sake tasting at our second spot, and that was interesting tasting them all. Then we ended the night at a small karaoke bar. My friend and I had to cut it short, but we had a good time.

As an introvert, I was actually quite nervous about the potentially awkward atmosphere, and I even considered canceling the tour after gathering the courage to book it. However, if I had canceled, I would have deeply regretted it. The tour guides, "Toshi and Midori", are incredibly thoughtful and kind-hearted people. Even if you have a vague fear or hesitation about Asian culture, this tour is such a warm and beautiful experience that it will completely change your perspective. Moreover, the fellow travelers I met today were like angels—so kind and considerate of one another. It was a rare, precious group that I might never encounter again. It was truly a happy day that filled my heart with warmth.

Our group consisted of just five people, which made the experience feel more personal and enjoyable. We were guided by Takumi, who was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. We visited three different locations, with the last stop being a bar with karaoke, which was such a fun way to end the night. Takumi made sure to answer all our questions about the food, culture, and drinks along the way, which added a lot to the experience. Overall, it was a really fun night and a great way to meet new people, especially if you’re traveling solo. I’d definitely recommend this tour!

it's a great experience for people visiting Shinjuku to explore the hidden alleys and various bars and izakaya. Kota, my guide is an incredible guy and will tell you about the nooks and corners of Shinjuku experience: you'll get to try different type of izakaya food and then comes the best part, the sake. there is a full fledged sake tasting experience and I can assure you by the end of the trip you'll make friends with everyone.

Scott was an amazing tour guide for our night out in shinjuku. He was very informative and definitely brought the fun with every bar we went too. This so far was a staple in my trip here because I ended up meeting other solo travelers and getting to converse with them. I would highly recommend to anyone coming here for a fun night out.

10/10 no notes. book it and make new friends from around the world. our guide Naoya took us to 3 great places around Omoide Yokocho and Golden Gai. we got some DELICIOUS chicken meatball skewers and many rounds of lemon sour and plum wine. then we went to a sake bar and tried 8 varieties of sake, each with their own unique flavors. finally we finished the night with some more drinks and karaoke. would definitely book again - this was one of our favorite experiences of the entire trip!

Our guide (Nao) was wonderful! we went to 3 stops- izayaka, sake tasting, and karaoke. Had a fun time while getting insider knowledge of the area and fact checking things found on the internet. would recommend!

absolutely amazing experience!! our guide toshi was brilliant from start to finish, all of the places she took us to were great and she even gave us tons of information on the history of different places in shinjuku as we walked around!! you get to meet people from all over the world so it’s a great way to make new friends!! we did an all you can drink with food, a sake tasting session and karaoke with all you can drink to finish off!! can’t recommend this enough, if you get the chance to do this you won’t regret it!!

We had an absolute blast in Shinjuku with our tour guide, Kota, and the rest of our group! Ko was great, fun and easy to get on with. Just an FYI for future bookings, you will be paying for all of the activities and food on the night, this came to about ¥7500 each - for food, drinks and karaoke!

My husband and I booked this last minute as a fun way to explore Shinjuku, and we couldn't be more happy with our experience! Our guide Erika was an absolute delight, and she did a fantastic job of keeping us entertained while sharing lots of insight into each area we visited. The food was delicious, the drinks plentiful, and the company incredible! (Our group had so much fun getting to know one another that at the end of our tour we asked our guide for advice on where to go, and we ended up staying out even later together at a local dive bar!)
