Takayama Shirakawa-go & Gokayama Full-Day UNESCO Tour

the group was full for this trip, all from various countries and no local japanese so we were assigned an english speaking guide which was truly fantastic! she intro the various sightseeing spots and food/drinks to try, the interaction between our tourguide and us were amazing! its a dedicated bus so we were able to go sightseeing travelling light (leaving snacks, jackets in the bus) and meetup spots were so much more convenient as compared to public buses! definitely worth the money for this!

This tour allowed us to explore the less accessible Ainokura village in Gokayama which is less touristy than the popular Shirakawa-go area. The duration allocated for both villages are appropriate. We are also very lucky to get a guide who is well versed in English.

It was an excellent trip! The guide, Yamashita, is very good at her job. It was advertised that the guide is Japanese, but she can actually speak English very well. I enjoyed the trip very much. The scenery, the vibe, everything was perfect! Thank you.

It is recommended not to buy too much in advance, but to check the weather about a week in advance to decide when to go (especially during the snow season). Exchange your physical ticket at the Nongfei Bus Center, and then go to bus stop No. 7 to wait for the bus. It was winter when I went there, but it rained all week long. I was lucky enough to have beautiful skies and snow falling when I went to Mount Goka, so although I couldn’t see the snow-covered Gassho Village, I still saw the beautiful snow scene! On the contrary, Shirakawa The weather in the village is very bad, there are many tourists, and it is relatively commercialized. Therefore, my family and I prefer Gokayama. The 50-minute stay is too short. It would be better if it could be longer. The overall tour arrangements are pretty good, the point-to-point bus pick-up and drop-off is very convenient, and the tour guide's explanations are clear and helpful :) I hope to extend my stay in Gokayama and Shirakawa-go (especially include lunch + observation deck + three cabins tour)

Wonderful experience. It was snowing heavily but we had fun walking around the village. However, we only have 3hrs in Shirakawago, so time was tight, especially if you need to Q up for food during peak season (each store took about 20 mins to get your snacks). We barely managed to get up to the Observatory to have an overview of the village & got back to the bus. Didn’t have time to try out the guide recommended ice cream & visit the Heritage Museum though.

This tour is definitely worth doing, our guide was highly knowledgeable and provided great explanations for everything and everyone (Japanese and English). Both Gokayama and Shirakawa-go were amazing and not too busy to enjoy its surrounds. We were able to undertake some washi paper making as well as eat some amazing cold soba.

this included bus driver & guide who explained in English & Japanese on the bus, we were then given time to explore the two places. guide also gave suggestions on what to check out. the price also included entering the open-air museum at Shiragawa-go, where there’s hardly any crowd & you can enjoy at your leisure.

Had an amazing experience! the guide is very fluent with English. She gives good suggestions on where to head first so that you can maximize your time at the two Unesco sites. Getting this Nohi package is Worth it!

Exchange for a physical ticket with a seat assigned at the bus terminal with the voucher. Visiting 2 places Gokayama and Shirakawa-go. The ticket included a free round trip to the observation deck and open museum at Shirakawa-go.

it was a great tour and we had amazing snow that day. phenomenal 3m high snow. it was great and really beautiful. Just remember to wear the right shoes for snow
