Reviews
We were lucky despite the untimely flight delay, to have our driver, Xiao Long, with us, throughout our trip in Inner Mongolia. He was there to fetch us, where the flight landed at 10pm plus. As someone without much words, friendly, he showed sincerity and care, indicating tourist traps to avoid. He went beyond the call of duty and offered to carry luggages to our room when there is no lift at the HeiShanTou. He will always smoke outside the car/restaurant & not like other driver will smoke no matter way. Accommodation provided were quite clean. Hotel local breakfast is simple and no coffee and tea. Please prepare for it when you travel. it is small group tour of 2-4 pax share tour in a vehicle. the vehicle provided is quite good, cooling and comfortable when only 3 of us in the vehicle. The sightseeing is quite good, worry free as ticket provided as per the itinerary. No shopping stops. It is really recommended for family travel with children, young kids or elderly parents.

This package is very worth to join. Coordinator created group chat in advance to provide useful information and answered all inquiries. Trip itinerary was clear and driver delivered good service. All activities were mostly the same as description, only when there was special road condition, the route had to re-arranged. This package is highly recommended.
Although this trip to Hulunbuir was only five days, we visited all the places we should visit. The itinerary was very comprehensive. The scenery along the way was very beautiful, and the weather was also very good. The driver, Miss Xiaolei, was very enthusiastic and drove very smoothly. I was very satisfied with every meal. I tasted local food, experienced horseback riding, and had close contact with animals. It was so fun! I liked this part! I also saw the sunset on the grassland. I want to go to Inner Mongolia again!
This five-day, four-night tour in Inner Mongolia is worth it. The grassland scenery is stunning, the itinerary is moderately paced, and the food, accommodation and transportation are all OK. I especially want to praise the leader, who is very down-to-earth and takes very good care of us throughout the trip. He is familiar with the route, explains things in a down-to-earth way, and always reminds us of the precautions. There is no routine. It feels very worry-free with him around, and it is very comfortable to play with him.
It was a fun 5D4N tour! Had a lot of fun visiting different places in hulunbuir, everyday was really exciting! We could get up close with the animals, play a lot of fun activities (eg horseriding, grass skiing, horse show) Also get to stay in different areas everyday. All the hosts were very accommodating and the areas we stayed in were clean and comfortable. Thank you to our driver Chao for the good experience as well! He’s a superb tour guide and always go out of his way to make us comfortable, he even gave us photoshoots at multiple locations with his camera and drone! Overall, I think this tour is really a must-go! I feel so comfortable having someone to bring us around, considering how inaccessible this place is, if we were to visit on our own. Each day of the tour was packed with exciting activities. Everyday is to be looked forward to 🥰
so great huluinbuir grassland experience with Lei-Lei as friendly, helpful and experienced guide+driver. worth the price!
The five-day, four-night trip to Hulunbuir grassland was rich in itinerary, full but not rushed. The pace was very good and leisurely. The driver, Master Meng, had excellent driving skills. The border road was winding with many sharp turns, and the bumpy muddy road in the hinterland of the grassland did not make me carsick.
(2 people can book a group at an additional price) The itinerary is very rich and interesting, and the itinerary is highly flexible if you book a group. The driver is very nice. It is recommended to participate👍 The itinerary on the last day is relatively small. If you book a group, you can ask the driver to return to Hailar according to the flight time (but it is also after the afternoon, if there is no traffic jam in the off-peak season)
The service of the tour leader is very good, the scenery is beautiful, and there is no traffic jam when traveling in the off-season
Good to know
📢Warm Reminder:
- Temperature: July to August is the hottest season, with temperatures generally ranging from 18 to 28 degrees Celsius above zero.
- Clothing: The temperature difference between morning and evening on the grassland is significant; it's cooler in the morning and evening, but hotter at noon. For daytime temperatures, you can refer to the weather forecast before your trip, but it's recommended to bring a thin/thick jacket depending on the season, preferably a windproof softshell jacket. For summer, bring normal summer clothes; for spring and autumn, bring long-sleeved shirts or ice sleeves. It's best to wear long pants to avoid sunburn. For horseback riding, denim pants are recommended for durability, or tight long pants. For shoes, comfortable sports shoes/outdoor hiking shoes are preferred. If you're unsure what to wear, white is always a safe bet. Low-saturation light colors like white, beige, blue, yellow, red, green, and coffee brown all photograph well.
- Skincare: Use appropriate hydrating skincare products. SPF50+ outdoor sunscreen is highly recommended. There are almost no shelters on the vast grassland, so it will be very sunny. Those who care about their appearance must do a good job of sun protection. Physical sun protection should also be prepared: sun protection clothing + hat + mask are all necessary. Mosquitoes are abundant on the grassland in the evening, so it's advisable to bring mosquito repellent to avoid bites.
- Eye Protection: Prepare sunglasses, straw hats, sun hats, and parasols, which can both prevent glare and help with posing for photos.
- Dining: Mongolian cuisine is about "hearty" eating of meat. The cattle and sheep in Hulunbuir are raised on natural grassland pastures every day, resulting in delicious and firm meat with no gamey smell. Even those who don't usually like lamb can mostly accept it.
- Medicines: Motion sickness medicine, stomach medicine, digestive medicine, insect repellent, mosquito repellent, band-aids, povidone-iodine disinfectant, alcohol wipes, etc.
- Luggage: Backpack + suitcase. The backpack should not be too large, and the suitcase should not exceed 24 inches.
- Please bring relevant documents before departure, such as ID card, military officer's certificate, soldier's certificate, student ID, disability certificate, etc. Any difference in discounted ticket prices will be refunded on site. For children without an ID card, please bring the original household registration booklet.
- Horseback Riding: Horseback riding on the grassland should be within designated areas to avoid getting lost or damaging the pasture. When riding horses freely on the vast grassland, you should wear gloves and travel shoes. When riding horses on the grassland, you must obey the arrangements and commands of the local herdsmen to avoid danger. Horseback riding requires attention to safety. For first-time riders, it's best to be led by a groom. Do not ride alone, and certainly do not gallop. On dangerous roads and downhill slopes, you must dismount and walk, otherwise, you are prone to injury. Try not to run, play, or make noise in the horse preparation area to avoid startling the horses. Do not open automatic umbrellas near horses, and do not make strenuous movements when approaching horses to avoid startling them. Do not feed horses casually to prevent being bitten by horses. (Horseback riding is not recommended for children under 1.2 meters or adults over 60 years old).
- Customs: The "dismounting wine" of the grassland is a traditional Mongolian way of entertaining guests, expressing the herdsmen's respect and love for their guests. Usually, the host pours fine wine into a silver bowl, gold cup, silver cup, or ox horn cup, places it on a long Hada (ceremonial scarf), and sings a moving traditional Mongolian toasting song. Guests should then immediately take the wine. After receiving the wine, dip your ring finger into the wine and touch it to the sky, the earth, and your forehead, to show respect to heaven, earth, and ancestors. If you don't drink alcohol, you don't have to force yourself; you can just touch your lips to show that you accept the host's pure friendship~! (A little secret: some fellow travelers in the past were very honest and, despite having no alcohol tolerance, wanted to express their sincerity, so they drank the wine and then couldn't enjoy anything, just slept soundly, making their trip to the grassland in vain).
