Our driver 侯文斌 did a fantastic job, not only was he always punctual and informative, but he also provided us with a positive and fun atmosphere throughout the days that we were traveling together. In particular, I would like to praise his consideration for what interesting things to keep an eye out for along the road, his safe and steady driving when bringing us from landmark to landmark, and especially in my case as I am a foreign passport holder, he was very patient and accommodating in helping to ensure that everything went smoothly with registrations related to my foreigner status. This trip was definitely made even better thanks to his help, and if I ever make another trip to or if I have friends visiting Hulunbuir I would not hesitate to strongly recommend 侯文斌 again.

2 sisters embarked on a grassland adventure along with a private driver. we were showed great sites to take photos and had great recommendations for food by the driver. 6D5N flew by and we’re writing a review as the first tour for this summer grassland season. engaging conversations with the driver in Mandarin & comfortable car rides through birch tree forest and endless grassland. horses, sheeps & cows are right by the road as we drive through. saw ground hogs brawling twice through the trip and it was a meme-come-through. Also, did you know that Rainbows can form in a circle? We were lucky enough to spot a circular rainbow while overlooking the river but the camera does not do it justice. we managed to see a sky full of stars when it was completely dark and we were able to also see satellites moving. it looked alot like slow shooting stars, you can try to make a wish upon a metal construction. overall it was relaxing, clean & adventurous. food was great and I love the long drives.

cxl's comment: The driver of this trip was a very nice big brother. The car was clean every day; the service was very thoughtful, and he would prepare a bottle of fresh water on the side of the car every day; he would carry handkerchiefs with him; he would take the initiative to take pictures for us; he was embarrassed to eat with us but would generously share fruits and dried fruits and other snacks with us. He also bought us a small drink before leaving🫰Summary: The big brother took care of everything, and we just ate, drank and had fun! (ps. The big brother has a small round face, dark skin, a little cool, more than 50 years old, and seems to be called Yong brother?)

It was an amazing experience. Hulunbuir was wonderful and guide 常金龙 was great! He was always on time, and always made sure I understood everything and supported me with whatever requests or questions I had. The itinerary was so much fun, it was just a shame that 2 out of the 6 days the weather was not so good - 1 day's activities even got cancelled because of the heavy rain (they were nice to offer a refund for the activity though) so I recommend getting the klook guarantee thing at check out.

The scenery in Inner Mongolia is nice. The accommodation for two nights is average, the soundproofing is poor, but everything else is good. I will continue to choose Klook in the future.

Thank you, Mr. Xiao, for driving us around and allowing us to explore Hulunbuir. Your driving was very steady and safe, which made us feel very secure. Your arrangement of attractions and meal times was also very reasonable, allowing us to fully experience this beautiful land. We especially appreciate your detailed introduction to the scenic spots of Hulunbuir and the local culture, which made our journey even more enriching and memorable. We hope to have the opportunity to travel with you again in the future!

The driver, Brother Lei, is enthusiastic, responsible and reliable. The route design is reasonable and the accommodation arrangement is comfortable. We visited all the highlights of Hulunbuir in six days and five nights. The most beautiful scenery is always on the road. Next time I come, I will do a private customized in-depth tour.

Good to know

  1. Temperature: July to August is the hottest season, with temperatures generally ranging from 18 to 28 degrees Celsius above zero.
  2. Attire: The temperature difference between morning and evening on the grassland is significant; it's cooler in the morning and evening, but hotter at noon. For daytime temperatures, you can refer to the weather forecast before your trip, but it's recommended to bring a thin/thick jacket depending on the season, preferably a windproof softshell jacket. For summer, bring normal summer clothes; for spring and autumn, bring long-sleeved shirts or ice sleeves, and it's best to wear long pants to avoid sunburn. For horseback riding, denim pants (for durability) or tight long pants are recommended. Comfortable sports shoes/outdoor hiking shoes are ideal. If you're unsure what to wear, white is always a safe bet. Low-saturation light colors like white, beige, blue, yellow, red, green, and coffee all photograph well.
  3. Skincare: Use appropriate hydrating skincare products. SPF50+ outdoor sunscreen is highly recommended. There is basically no shade on the vast grassland, so it will be very sunny. Those who care about their appearance must do a good job of sun protection. Physical sun protection should also be prepared: sun protection clothing + hat + mask should all be ready. Mosquitoes are numerous in the evening on the grassland, so it's advisable to bring mosquito repellent to avoid bites.
  4. Eye Protection: Prepare sunglasses, straw hats, sun hats, and parasols, which can both prevent glare and help with styling.
  5. Dining: Mongolian cuisine is about "hearty" meat-eating. The cattle and sheep in Hulunbuir are raised on natural grassland pastures every day, resulting in tender and firm meat with no gamey taste. Even those who don't usually like lamb can mostly accept it.
  6. Medicines: Motion sickness medicine, stomach medicine, digestive medicine, insect repellent, mosquito repellent, band-aids, povidone-iodine disinfectant, alcohol wipes, etc.
  7. Luggage: Backpack + suitcase. The backpack should not be too large, and the suitcase should not exceed 24 inches.
  8. Before departure, please bring relevant documents: ID card, officer's certificate, soldier's certificate, student ID, disability certificate, etc. Any difference in discounted ticket prices will be refunded on the spot. For children without an ID card, please bring the original household registration booklet.
  9. Horseback Riding: Horseback riding on the grassland should be done within designated areas to avoid getting lost or damaging the pasture. When riding freely on the vast grassland, bring gloves and travel shoes. When riding horses on the grassland, you must obey the arrangements and commands of the local herders to avoid danger. Pay attention to safety when riding. For first-time riders, it's best to be led by a groom. Do not ride alone, and certainly do not gallop. On dangerous roads and downhill slopes, you must dismount and walk, otherwise, you are prone to injury. Try not to run, play, or make noise in the horse preparation area to avoid startling the horses. Do not open automatic umbrellas near horses, and do not make sudden movements when approaching horses to avoid startling them. Do not feed horses casually to prevent being bitten. (Horseback riding is not recommended for children under 1.2 meters or adults over 60 years old).
  10. Customs: The "dismounting wine" of the grassland is a traditional Mongolian way of entertaining guests, expressing the respect and love of the grassland herders for their guests. Usually, the host pours fine wine into a silver bowl, gold cup, silver cup, or ox horn cup, holding it on a long Hada, and sings a moving traditional Mongolian toasting song. Guests should immediately take the wine, and after taking it, dip their ring finger into the wine and touch it to the sky, the earth, and their forehead, to show respect to heaven, earth, and ancestors. If you don't drink alcohol, you don't have to force yourself; you can just touch your lips to it to show that you accept the host's pure friendship~! (A little anecdote: some fellow travelers in the past were very honest, had no alcohol tolerance but wanted to express their sincerity, so they drank the wine and then couldn't enjoy anything else, just slept soundly, and their trip to the grassland was in vain).
