Ballarat Wildlife Park General Ticket

This is a very animal-friendly zoo. The kangaroos, emus, and alpacas are not kept in enclosures, and the enclosures that do exist are designed to mimic the animals' natural habitats as much as possible, so the animals seem quite happy. The kangaroos here like to lie down to sleep, even when they're eating. They tend to be more active and will beg for food when the zoo opens, even putting their paws on your hands. It's recommended to book the animal experiences first thing in the morning, as the number of participants is very limited and they fill up quickly. A photo is included in the experience and will be emailed to you later. During the experience, you can mostly only touch their backs. Some animal experiences aren't listed, so it's best to ask the staff for more information.

This wildlife park is close to Melbourne. It is an excellent experience to take your children to the park. You can see koalas, wombats, and superb crocodiles.

This is truly a wild zoo where animals roam freely. You can get up close and personal with various animals and even buy feed to give to the kangaroos. It's a very enjoyable and fun experience that I highly recommend.

The first time for my family and we enjoyed the friendly staff and so happy to see the animals so closed!

After arriving at Ballarat Station, taking an Uber there isn't expensive. The zoo is open-plan, with a ton of kangaroos, which is pretty nice. We paid 55 AUD to interact with and take photos with a koala, but the photographer only takes one picture. The kangaroos here are bigger than those at Featherdale Wildlife Park.

This is not a big park however very relaxing and good place to feed the kangaroos when they are all chilling around the park. Bought the ticket to have close encounter with the Koalas and my kid was very happy. Spent few hours there and attended some of the animal presentations by the keepers. Overall a good experience.

Experience: My first time at this island zoo was great. It didn't smell bad inside either. The staff were all very friendly.

It took a little under 2 hours from Southern Cross Station to Ballarat Station, and then about 15 minutes by Uber to arrive. In addition to the admission ticket, I purchased tickets on-site and was able to see wombats and koalas to my heart's content! I recommend visiting on a weekday! You can purchase tickets at a lower price, and it's stress-free just to scan them and enter.
