What To Expect

Set in the true Aussie bush, the Healseville Sanctuary is home to several of Australia's iconic animals, from koalas to platypus and wombats. Everyday there's a talk made by one of the zoo keepers sharing their experiences about a species of animal and their conservation efforts. Get up close and watch parrots, owls and predatory birds soar above you at the Spirits of the Sky show and discover the unique and colourful Australian bird life. Make sure you take the time to walk through the treetop platforms and boardwalk to get a good view of the koalas set among their native gum tree habitat. The Healesville Sanctuary is a zoo-based conservation organisation, so its not only a place to visit cute native animals, but a chance to learn about the conservation efforts promoted by the zoo in sustaining these species for the future.

Nice place to see Australian animals like koala, kangaroo, platypus, dingo. Unfortunately the weather was not very good the day we were there and we didn’t see wombat and Tasmanian devil. Overall a nice experience and the staffs are all very friendly too. Place is very far from city though.

Amazing experience exploring australian native animals and great surroundings of Healsville.

While there are a limited number and variety of animals on site, we nevertheless had a great day out with family at the Sanctuary. I loved the Australian "bush" setting. There were many seating areas, and water fountains were peppered throughout the park. I would however caution against visiting on a hot day - not only is it unpleasant for human beings, animals tend to hide and be inactive in such weather.

Flight show was very nice, the rest of the zoo, doesn“t worth it, to pay so much entrance and drive far to get there.
  • Flora Dilys 29 Dec 2017
A very fun day for the kids and the adults. The voucher is a great value!

The Spirits of the Sky show is a must when you visit.

not really great as we cannot touch the animals there and it is just like a zoo with caged animals. not many kangaroos there.
