Kyoto Uji Matcha Experience & Nara Private 1-Day Tour

We had a wonderful day and we enjoy from Nara to Arashiyama. Thanks to our guide.

besides from the weather being too hot, the tour was great! Japan is such a beautiful country! Amy our tour guide was very friendly and informative. she was constantly checking in on us to make sure we were doing ok with the heat and humidity.

it was a hot and humid summer day (about 97 degrees Fahrenheit) in July when we did the tour but we had a nice A/C bus with comfortable reclining chairs complete with footrest. it was a nice reprieve after being in the heat visiting all the places. Ms. Aki, our tour guide was a trooper! the heat never fazed her, she patiently explained all the history behind the sites. half of our group only did the morning part of the tour (Nara) and we had to go back to Kyoto station to drop them off. then we head out to lunch with a smaller group (about 9 people total). the meal was already prepared for us when we arrived at the restaurant which was nice. the rest of the afternoon was spent visiting more sites. Ms Aki gave us enough free time to explore. highly recommend this tour, she even had us do a quick detour to Kimono forest on the way to arashiyama bamboo forest. we did a lot despite the heat!

Really nice and highly enjoyable. All of us had great fun and took lots of photos for IG and FB and we would like to come back again.

The booking system with Klook was easy to use and the tour company HIS communicated individually with me to confirm some personal requests. The tour was a long day from 8am to 6:30pm but we saw some amazing places. We would have appreciated a coffee stop at mid morning. Lunch was excellent! The tour guide only knew basic English and struggled with some of our questions.

First of all our guide wasn't even holding a flag so it was hard to recognise him. Waited 20mins for someone who was late when departute was supposed to be at 8am. He couldn't keep the tour together. Lost 3 peopl at Todaiji. Made us all wait for 30mins at meeting point when he could've let us feed the deers at Nara park while he could wait for those ppl by himself. Feeding deer was skipped. I also though we would be driven to Kasuga Shrine but we had to walk there it was a ong walk. He lost another 3 ppl along the way we had to spend 15min waiting again. Ended up just seeing the entrace of Kasuga Shrine and he didn't take us inside. It was a total waste of time. Lunch bento was nice but guide only gave us 30mins to shove everything down our throats. Imperial palace was a good walk. Kinkakuji was too rush could'nt take enough pictures. Bamboo forest was also rushed and the guide was speeding ahead and lost 5ppl and we walked back to the car park ourselves while he went somewhere with the group.

This tour is unlike others, no rush, nice pace, tour guide (a Japanese man) explains everything very calmly and clearly. And he follows us all the way (not just drop of at entrance). Highly recommended tour!!
