Reviews
The trek was extremely well organized. all the appropriate safety measures taken including the decision to climb if the wind speed increases. the place to stay at the 8th station was super clean and the food provided was of top quality. For people thinking of climbing Mt. Fuji, remember to carry coins for washrooms and water. scenery: I cannot say less about the views from the top. it's one of the most brilliant views I have seen in all my trekking experience
Great hiking experience, however, renting equipment took way too much time and guid was only in Japanese (regardless of what was written in voucher)
Thanks to the Japanese instructor and Instructor Yang for their careful arrangements, I was able to complete it successfully. The selfless leadership of my Japanese mentor allowed me to return to Hong Kong safely.
Nice Trip. Good leadership, taking care of group members, paying attention to safety
The tour leader was very considerate and allowed me to complete this trip safely
Overall, the experience was pretty good, but here are a few points we think could be improved: 1. The tour leader (specifically the one who speaks Chinese). Our tour leader was a man, and since we don't understand Japanese, he was supposed to be translating when the Japanese guide was explaining things, or at least looking after us. However, my family and I felt he was quite lazy and not proactive in translating. He only did it when the Japanese guide asked him to. Also, we felt he seemed a bit jaded and wasn't engaged in the itinerary or helping out. We were really disappointed with this. We ended up relying on other hikers in the group to help us translate. 2. We hope the itinerary can state that there's an extra charge for going around the volcanic crater, and that the fee is based on the Japanese guide's discretion. He initially quoted a price, but then raised it before going up the mountain because fewer people wanted to do it than he expected. I understand that leading tours is hard work, but we hope this can be noted in the KLOOK itinerary (e.g., "Additional fee required, based on the Japanese guide's desired price"). 3. I understand it's hard to make demands about mountain huts, but I wonder if one thing can be improved: the "breakfast" that the mountain hut gave everyone for the next morning was a rice box with white rice and a tiny bit of topping of some kind. I think this is very inconvenient. When I got up early in the morning, I noticed that hardly anyone was eating the rice box. But because the mountain hut doesn't allow you to leave things there, we had to carry the rice box up the mountain and then back down. In the end, we threw it away because it wasn't tasty. I felt like I was wasting food. I suggest that the breakfast could be replaced with bread, dried food, and maybe a small carton of milk or soy milk, which would be easier for everyone to carry and quick to eat while hiking. 4. The last point is based on my own experience and may vary from person to person. The price of this itinerary on KLOOK is much higher than what others paid. If you have good language skills, I recommend booking directly on the official website, where you can get the same package for possibly a third of the price on KLOOK. You need to compare prices yourself, but the platform is supposed to offer convenience, so everyone needs to do their own research and price comparisons. The hot spring experience at the end of the trip was nice. Overall, we still enjoyed the experience very much.
There is not enough rest time to go up the mountain, it is too hasty! In addition, the itinerary does not include going to Jianfeng, which is very disappointing!
