The Ramayana show was spectacular and beautifully staged. Ticket collection and seating were quick and smooth. I loved the energy and storytelling, and the two-part format with a short intermission was a nice touch, giving time to stretch and refresh. The second half felt a bit brief, so dividing the acts more evenly might make the pacing even better. The music, costumes, and dance were captivating from start to finish, and the setting with Prambanan in the background created a magical atmosphere. At the end, I enjoyed the chance to take photos with some of the talented performers. Overall, an engaging and memorable cultural performance that I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Yogyakarta.

It was a good experience! The shows was stunning! All the actors are great and know how to express their emotion! I am strongly recommending for those who want to learn about the mythology script.

Interesting show that is must see when you are in Yogyakarta. Prambanan as back drop really elevated the show to the next level. English captions are available as well.

The ballet was interesting, and there were screens that explained what was happening in the story, first in Indonesian and then in English. Our show lasted about an hour and a half: an hour initially, then a fifteen-minute break, and then the final fifteen minutes of the show. There are stalls outside the theater where you can buy something to snack on during the break. PS. With the voucher, you can go to the VIP line, and they'll give you the tickets without having to wait in longer lines!

the qr code ticket provided by klook was easy to exchange for physical ticket at the venue. smooth process. the Ramayan Ballet was very enjoyable. we just wished that it would be better if the characters don't break their role. Ramayan is a serious story so the comic angle, while engaging with the audience, was a led down for us.

We arrived to an amazing team of staff who guided us to the venue. We were even given vouchers to claim either coffee and cold drinks. The performance was amazing with English subtitles projected on the screen so you can follow the play. It was truly a culturally enrich experience.

I had seen the Ramayana dance at the Purawisata Theater before, so I went to see this one on the premises after visiting the Purawisata Temple. The plays themselves follow the same Ramayana story, but this one had a more subdued feel than the Purawisata Theater. Well, that's because the latter is known for its acrobatic and flashy performances. Also, when returning to Yogyakarta city after the play, there seems to be a shuttle bus, but I couldn't find it, so I took a GRUB (motorcycle) back.

Ramayana Prambanan is a show that combines dance and drama without dialogue, based on the Ramayana story, it’s performed near Prambanan Temple on Java Island, Indonesia. Ramayana Prambanan performs since 1961.
Ramayana stories based on Hindu epics adapted to Javanese culture make Ramayana Prambanan a unique dance. More than 200 professional dancers and gamelan musicians participated in this Ramayana Ballet which took place on an open stage with Prambanan Temple as a backdrop. Ramayana Ballet is also based on the bas-relief at Shiva Temple, Prambanan.
Ramayana’s story is the journey of Rama in rescuing his wife Sita (usually called Sinta) who was kidnapped by the king of Alengka Kingdom, Rahwana. The Ramayana Prambanan Ballet is held every Saturday, the performances on the stage are open only in the dry season, in the rainy season the performances are held on indoor Trimurti stage.
