Shimoda, the home of kinmedai, has the most restaurants serving kinmedai dishes, and many other eligible areas also have restaurants proud of their own kinmedai specialties. The Izu Peninsula is bigger than you think! Driving there from the Tokyo area can be very tiring… We recommend “Park & Train”: park your car at the lot in front of Izukogen Station and switch to the train!
