Stay for 120 minutes (visit + free lunch) Asahiyama Zoo is the only zoo in Japan where you can see snow country animals such as polar bears and penguins. Here, you can observe their adorable appearance in the snow up close. You can also see penguins walking from December to March every year.
- Biei Christmas Tree Visit for 15 minutes
- Shirogane Blue Pond Waterfall Visit for 30 minutes
The most important attraction in Biei, it is a rare sub-surface waterfall in Japan, where groundwater seeps out from rock crevices and cascades down from a height of about 30 meters with powerful momentum, flowing into the Biei River. Because the shape of the waterfall resembles a white beard, it is called "Shirogane Blue Pond Waterfall."

--Warmth and slip resistance are key: Asahikawa's winter temperatures drop to around -10℃, so you need to wear waterproof and slip-resistant snow boots, thick down jackets, scarves, gloves and other warm equipment; there is a lot of snow in the zoo and outdoor attractions, so be careful when walking to avoid falling.
--Zoo Tour Tips:
- The "Penguin Walk" from December to March is a limited-time project. It is recommended to confirm the time of the day's sessions in advance and arrange your tour route accordingly.
- There are many lunch options in the park. You can prepare warm drinks in advance, but be careful not to feed the animals.
--Attraction Tour Information:
- Shirahige Falls is an outdoor area, and the walkway may be icy. Try to walk along the non-slip area when walking.
- The Elf Terrace has a quiet atmosphere. Please communicate in a soft voice when resting to maintain a comfortable environment together.
