Reviews
This was my first time visiting Kumamoto, and I was really satisfied because the Korean-speaking guide was kind and explained everything in detail. I chose this company because it was the only one with a Korean-speaking guide for this course, and it was definitely the right choice. They provided detailed explanations at every tour location, took pictures with great care, and even recommended good restaurants at the end. Overall, it was a very friendly and comfortable tour.
We spent the day moving between history and nature. Impressed by the view of Mt.Aso and it was nice to walking across the open fields of Kusasenri. Prefect to soak in the warm baths at Kurokawa Onsen. It was such a full and healing day. Huge applause to our tour guide as well — she took amazing care of us the whole time.
This tour was such a highlight of our trip! Seeing Mt. Aso’s crater in person was absolutely breathtaking. I also loved how the day was paced. The itinerary just made sense, nothing felt rushed, and Kurokawa Onsen was the perfect, relaxing finish.
Great day to enjoy both Mt.Aso and Kurokawa Onsen in one day. We got lucky with the great weather! The trip is easy to join from fukuoka and the communication with guide was easy as well. Overall nice day out!
Due to the volcanic activity on Mount Aso, we went to Daegwanbong instead, and it was amazing! Seeing the vast, expansive scenery made me feel like all my stress just disappeared. I was able to experience the charm of nature once again. And even though we couldn't go to the crater due to the volcanic activity, it was nice to be able to see the smoke rising from the volcano at Kusa-senri. The guide provided excellent explanations and was so kind, which made the tour very comfortable. Thank you, guide!
Scenic, well-paced, and worth it for the crater views and onsen unwind.
The guide was very nice and friendly. Also told us interesting stories about the places we visited.
I just finished the tour last week and it was truly one of the highlights of my Japan trip! The scenery at the crater and the wide expanse of Kusasenri were absolutely breathtaking. The transportation was smooth and comfortable, and our guide was really friendly and attentive, making sure everyone was well informed. The tour end with the hot springs and it helped melt away all the tiredness. Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Kyushu🌋♨️
One thing to note is that it’s a long day with quite a bit of time on the bus, but it truly felt worth it in the end. Though the service stops are well planned and frequent enough. What really stood out to me was that this tour includes Kurokawa Onsen — I didn’t see many other tours offering that. We had enough time to try different baths and relax in the foot baths, which was such a treat. Our guide did a great job! He was warm, clear, and attentive, always making sure everyone was doing okay.
The tour group was led by 3 Koreans. The guide tried their best to explain in English and was very responsible. The entire trip was unforgettable and highly recommended!
Good to know
- Please note(Oct-Mar): Access to the crater is subject to closure based on real-time volcanic gas levels and weather conditions. If the crater is inaccessible, we will visit the magnificent Daikanbo Peak or Kamishikimi Kumanoimasu instead, the premier observatory for a breathtaking panoramic view of the entire Aso caldera and its ‘Five Peaks’.
- Please note: Since we cannot guarantee if access to the crater is available, shuttle bus ticket from Aso Sanjo Terminal to Nakadake Crater is not included in this package. If you would like to visit the crater, please pay in cash on-site.
