I highly recommend this for anyone who is wanting a very approachable way to experience sado and shodo! I was greeted ten minutes before my time slot began and it was only the three of us in the entire facility. both women were extremely helpful and it was very fun conversing with them. Their chocolate is also amazing! I am so glad that I chose to come here for my first time in Miyajima and I am sure you will be as well!
This activity is a MUST-DO if you are visiting Miyajima. The two ladies who guided me through everything have my utmost respect. Their warmth and genuine enthusiasm for sharing their culture made the ceremony not only impressive but also deeply meaningful. Their english was also very good so it was easy to communicate. The location is beautiful too, a building once owned by monks with a nice front garden for pictures in the kimono. This has been a highlight of my trip in Japan. I can guarantee that it is worth going here.
It was a very beautiful experience. I recommend it if you're in Hiroshima area. We had a lot time in the courtyard to take pictures and they have all the accessories too.

We did the ceremonial tea, calligraphy and kimono wearing. We had a really good time. We were honoured that the tea master showed us and guided us through the ceremony. they were very patient with us and ensured we had a good time. Overall a really good experience
I would definitely recommend this unique experience to sample and learn about Japanese culture. We had a great afternoon dressing in kimonos, taking part in a tea ceremony and trying brush calligraphy. Our hosts were very welcoming and knowledgeable and the house and garden on Miyajima was lovely.
Amazing experience in Miyajima ! The three ladies that took care of us were very nice. We were a small group (only four people) and did the tea ceremony and calligraphy experience in kimonos. We learned a little bit more about Japan culture. The ladies took photos of is in the garden which makes a great souvenir. Thank you again !
