China's Zero Point Scenic Spot

The six-meter-high bronze sculpture of the National Height Datum is the landmark of the scenic area. This bronze resembles a large plumb bob, and the tip of the bob indicates the "National Height Datum of the People's Republic of China" measured by experts. Below the sculpture is an observation well, and at the bottom of the observation well is a huge red agate ball. The top plane of this sphere is the zero-meter mark of China's elevation. The altitude of China's famous mountains is measured from this datum.

Next to the bronze statue of the zero-point mark, there is also a zero-point sign and bilingual text descriptions in Chinese and English. You can also visit the World Height Datum Window (photo exhibition) and walk through the popular science gallery with marine, tidal, sea level, height datum, and elevation knowledge as the main content to understand various popular science knowledge related to the height datum.
