Guide
Jimo Ancient City, also known as Zhumao City and Kangwang City, was built during the Spring and Autumn Period and abandoned in the 16th year of Kaihuang in the Sui Dynasty. It once served as the capital of Jiaodong State and was a famous political, economic, and cultural center in eastern Qi State. In "Records of the Grand Historian," Su Qin once praised it, saying: "Qi has the richness of Langya and Jimo." The core area of the ancient city integrates ancient culture, specialty snacks, and exhibition halls. Public buildings such as the county yamen, exhibition halls, Confucian Temple, City God Temple, God of Wealth Temple, Zhenwu Temple, Paifang Street (21 archways), and churches have been rebuilt, creating an overall pattern of "one city, two streets, ten scenic spots, and thirteen workshops." The Examination Institute, located within Jimo Ancient City, is an important historical site for ancient imperial examinations.
