Baluran National Park felt like a mini Africa in the middle of Java. We saw deer, wild buffalo and a ton of macaques on the savanna. Our driver-guide was friendly and knew where to look for animals. It was hot and dusty, so bring water, but it was a really memorable private tour.
Loved the seaside portion. Fresh seafood, a walk by the harbor, and a gorgeous sea breeze after the castle climb. Our guide recommended a tiny spot for lunch and it was the best meal of the trip. Highly recommend!
Nice day trip from Tokyo. The castle was beautiful and the guide made the history easy to follow. Lunch near the sea was delicious and prices were reasonable. Would recommend to anyone who wants to see the real Japan.
Odawara Castle is so unique, and they even have a samurai experience which is fantastic for photos! The tour guide was very friendly and explained everything in detail, and even took us for a walk by the sea where the fresh air was wonderful. Compared to the crowded spots in downtown Tokyo, this place has way fewer people, is very relaxing, and is definitely worth a visit!
The seaside part was amazing! Walking while feeling the ocean breeze and eating super fresh seafood—the small shop recommended by the tour guide was truly wonderful. The whole itinerary was both leisurely and fulfilling, without the usual rushed feeling of tour groups. Highly recommended.
Experiencing samurai culture was truly fun, with plenty of photo opportunities, and the tour guide was very humorous. The children had a wonderful time, and I learned a lot myself. The itinerary was very well organized with no sense of being rushed, highly recommended.
Odawara Castle was well worth seeing, and the guide shared a lot of information about the samurai era. Unfortunately, it was quite hot that day, and a few more breaks would have been nice. Overall, a good tour away from the tourist crowds.
