Approximately 80 minutes with no interval
Journey to the underworld and back. Gluck’s heartbreaking opera follows the grieving Orpheus into the jaws of Hades to rescue his beloved Eurydice. He must complete his quest without looking back, or lose Eurydice forever.
Awe-inspiring acrobatics meet Gluck’s exquisite music in a genre-busting production, making this a highlight of Sydney Festival. Projections seamlessly integrate surtitles into the action on stage, as brilliant singers come together with the trailblazing circus artists of Circa, one of Australia’s most successful cultural exports.
In this visually stunning production, Circa’s Artistic Director Yaron Lifschitz has created a mesmerising experience, exploring the intersection between love and death that is the beating heart of Orpheus & Eurydice.

Mozart’s Idomeneo
Approximately 3 hours, including one interval
Drowning at sea in a vicious storm, the King of Crete makes a terrible vow to Neptune. To save his ship and his men, he will sacrifice the first human life he encounters on land. Bound by his rash promise, Idomeneo comes ashore and meets his own son. The choice he makes next sets the vengeance of the gods upon the people of Crete.
Rooted in the ancient mythology of the Trojan War’s aftermath, Mozart’s epic opera remains a story for our time. It explores human themes we recognise today: the fallout of war, natural catastrophe, grief, love and human frailty.
In Lindy Hume’s new production, the human emotion and mythic power of the drama is reflected in an immersive set evoking the epic seas, skies and rugged coastline of ancient Crete.

Enjoying an opera at the world's most famous opera house is the best memory of visiting Sydney, Australia! ? You must come and watch an opera in your life, it is a worthwhile trip!
The play was fantastic! The actors were superb! We had a really great time! It is a must to watch an opera here at the Sydney Opera House! We got really good seats! The ticketing was very easy we just had to give our name and made sure that we had a copy of our digital voucher! We also had our photos taken by a photographer there! Will definitely recommend this activity to our friend and family, thank you Klook!
This is my first time I go watch the opera. I have to say at the beginning of the opera, I didn’t quite get the point of watching opera and then the more I watch, the more interested I am. I am so lucky to get the promotion of buy one get one free ticket that I can watch my first ever opera show. I am very pleased.
Although I can't understand the content, there are small English subtitles next to it for reference, but it is not very comfortable to turn your head around. It is recommended to go online to understand the content of the story before watching the play. This time we are looking at an adapted version of the tales of hoffmann. The stage design is very interesting, the live performance fits seamlessly with the opera, and the singing is also very exciting. Even if you don't understand French, you can enjoy the overall beauty of the opera! During the intermission, you can go to the outside bar to order drinks, or go outdoors to enjoy the night view. Many people are dressed up to attend. It is recommended to wear beautiful dresses and suits to experience the atmosphere of local people listening to opera together! And use KLOOK to book tickets first, it is very easy, highly recommended!
the Sydney opera house is of course beautiful as always. the show we watched - Mozart's Indomeneo- is not too recommended though. They all dressed (deliberately?) too modern world costumes that I just couldn't immerse into their ancient story telling plots. other than that, it's pretty good.
Very convenient arrangement! The location is also very well arranged (we bought the location in area D), and overall we did not encounter any difficulties!
Watching Madame Butterfly this time, I think it is highly recommended to watch the drama. If there is nothing you want to watch, then buy a ticket and watch it with an open mind! The show was very full, the tickets were buy one get one free, and I sat in row 23 at the back of the first floor and beside the middle, but at this price I thought it was very good! really recommend
It's one of a kind experience in the Sydney Opera House. You get to view the opera house from the inside as well, not something you can do normally.
This time I went to listen to an opera at the Opera House, a typical symbol of Sydney. It was my first experience in my life and I was very excited. However, I found opera difficult because of the language barrier. Even though I couldn't understand the words completely, I was able to watch the performance while imagining what the scene was like right now.
We had an amazing time here. The performance was incredible and the seats were so close to the stage that we could see every expression on the actors' faces! All at 50% off so we essentially got like a Cat A ticket for the price of a Cat D or something like that.
