Best Guide Won Yang!!!!! Hakone & Mt. Fuji One-Day Tour Review 🗻 (feat. The Best Guide Ever) As the highlight of my Tokyo trip, I went on a Hakone & Mt. Fuji one-day tour. It was the most memorable day of this trip, and at the heart of it was our incredibly kind guide, Won Yang!!! From the early morning meeting point in Shinjuku, our guide greeted each person with a bright smile and took care of us. On the bus ride, they explained the history of Mt. Fuji and various sights and information about Hakone, so there was never a dull moment. It wasn't just about guiding us to places; they also thoughtfully provided detailed information in advance, like the best times to use the restroom and how long until the next activity, which made us feel very comfortable. The itinerary was packed, including a Hakone cruise and a hot spring village, making me wonder how it was possible to fit so much into one day. Yet, the guide's expertise ensured the schedule was well-distributed so we didn't feel tired. What was most impressive was their attitude towards people. They patiently waited for the elderly members of our group to match their walking pace and answered even small questions with a smile, never showing any sign of annoyance. On the way back, despite what must have been a tiring day, their bright voice and dedication to getting us back safely felt truly sincere. This Hakone express day trip is perfect for those with a short stay in Tokyo who still want to visit a famous, albeit more distant, attraction. The itinerary is exciting and packed. We took a cable car down from Owakudani, then boarded a pirate ship on Lake Ashi (Ashinoko) to admire the beautiful lake and mountain scenery, Mount Fuji, and the famous Hakone Shrine torii gate in the lake. We also made time to visit Hakone Shrine. Next, we headed in a different direction to Oshino Hakkai in the Fuji region, where we joined the crowd to collect the long-life spring water from Mount Fuji. Before returning to Tokyo, we made a quick stop at Lake Yamanaka, allowing everyone to catch another quick glimpse of Mount Fuji and take some photos, then headed back to Tokyo Station. Since there are plenty of travelers at Tokyo Station, not stopping at Shinjuku Station saved a significant amount of time.

The tour was very well organized and took us to so many beautiful spots, including Lake Ashi and the Torii Gate, Hakone Shrine, the Hakone Pirate Ship, Hakone Ropeway, Owakudani, Lake Yamanaka, and Oshino Hakkai. Erik was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the entire day enjoyable from start to finish. He shared interesting information throughout the trip, kept everything running smoothly, and made sure everyone was comfortable and having a great time. We were able to see and experience so much in one day without ever feeling overwhelmed. The scenery was incredible, and this was such a memorable way to experience Mount Fuji and Hakone. There were a lot of wonderful things to do on the one-day tour, we really enjoyed the pirate ship cruise, the ropeway and seeing the sights. It was nice not to think about reservations, tickets, or transportation. Kousei was very friendly and organized! Our bus driver was great too! We wish there would have been more time to explore - it felt a bit rushed, but there was a lot packed into a single day.

We had a great time! I was more impressed than I thought I would be. Our tour guide, Tom, was very nice and insightful on the various destinations. I also appreciated that he was very punctual, and kept us updated on departure times. There was a lot of very beautiful nature to see, and overall it was very peaceful. I highly recommend this tour if you are looking for a break from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Full day well spent. Yuan Yang was genuinely the highlight of the whole experience, knowledgeable, funny, and made it feel personal rather than just another tourist group being shuffled around. The itinerary covered everything you’d want: pirate ship on Lake Ashi, the floating torii gate, Owakudani, and the ropeway. Transfer was smooth and comfortable throughout. Honestly great value for how much ground you cover in one day. Would highly recommend this to anyone who wants to see the best of Hakone without the stress of figuring it out solo.

What a wonderful day. We got lucky enough to take this tour on a very clear day so we were able to see Mt Fuji everywhere we went. our guide Evita was fantastic and very knowledgeable. Highly recommend this tour. We were there during golden week and can’t imagine try to navigate alll the different areas on our own.

We had an amazing tour in the Hakone area, made even more special by a spectacularly clear view of Mt. Fuji—we know how lucky we were to catch it like that! Erik was a fantastic guide throughout the day. He gave great context at every stop, helping us really understand the places we visited, and he was always helpful whenever we had questions.
