Naeba Dragondola Located within the renowned Naeba Ski Resort, the “Naeba Dragondola” is a hugely popular autumn foliage viewing spot in Japan. From mid-October to early November each year, the larch trees near the base of the Dragondola, at an altitude of approximately 900 meters, enter their golden peak. Enjoy a special early ride on Japan’s longest Dragondola, spanning 5,481 meters, to admire the stunning autumn leaves. Hakkaisan Ropeway Hakkaisan has been revered as a sacred mountain since ancient times and is one of the “Echigo Sanzan” (three mountains of Echigo). Take the Hakkaisan Ropeway for a 360-degree panoramic view of the entire mountain covered in autumn colors. The best time to view the autumn leaves is from mid-September, when the rowan trees, maple trees, and beeches near the summit begin to turn red. The most beautiful period for autumn leaves around the ropeway is usually from mid-October to early November. Kiyotsu Gorge Tunnel Kiyotsu Gorge is known as one of “Japan’s Three Great Gorges.” Inside the approximately 750-meter-long tunnel, you’ll find various art installations with different styles, especially the decoration at the deepest part of the tunnel, which is adorned with a pond, allowing every visitor to capture many enviable photos. It is definitely a must-visit spot for photography enthusiasts! Yuba (Tofu Skin) Scooping Experience Head to “Machidaya,” a long-established yuba shop with nearly a century of history, for a special yuba scooping experience. You can also use soy sauce, salt, and other seasonings to create your own flavors, and sample various dishes made from yuba and tofu – delicious and fun! Ikaho Onsen Ikaho Onsen, a famous hot spring resort, has a history of over 400 years, attracting many onsen enthusiasts. The symbol of Ikaho is the stone staircase with 365 steps stretching towards the sky. Lined with souvenir shops, restaurants, and amusement arcades, it is full of traditional onsen atmosphere, attracting visitors to come. Fukiware Falls Located in Gunma Prefecture, Fukiware Falls is known as the “Niagara Falls of the Orient.” Due to the fragility of the local bedrock, many cracks have formed over the years, creating the enormous Fukiware Gorge. Near the waterfall, you can feel the powerful spray of water, which is truly moving. During the autumn foliage season, the surrounding mountains are covered with red leaves, further enhancing the waterfall’s splendor and beauty!
